St. Nicholas of Myra
More commonly known as St. Nick.
St. Nicholas was a real 4th-century Greek Christian bishop in Myra, Tรผrkiye, famous for secret, generous gift-giving, especially helping a poor man save his daughters from slavery by providing dowries, by dropping gold ๐ช down their chimney which led to traditions of stockings and gift-giving. He became known as the protector of children, sailors, and the needy, evolving into the legendary Santa Claus, but also known as a defender of justice, even with a whip in some depictions.
