About Our Founders: Eric & Nancy

Eric was born in London, England, and Nancy grew up in Park Slope, Brooklyn. They met in the entertainment industry in 1998 when Eric, working as an assistant casting director, was casting for the NBC movie The Temptations. During auditions, he met Nancy, and they quickly became close friends, marrying a year later. Both began attending a Bible study for actors, w

here they were led to the Lord by a well-known Hollywood movie star. Shortly after, they chose to pause their careers in the arts to pursue further education: Eric became a teacher, and Nancy became a social worker. For ten years, they planted themselves at the Brooklyn Tabernacle Church, singing in the Six-Time Grammy Award-winning Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir and serving as leaders in various ministries. In 2007, Nancy gave birth to their fourth child, Naomi, who was born still for three minutes. After being resuscitated and placed on a respirator, Nancy faced severe internal bleeding and was given only 24 hours to live. Miraculously, Nancy survived but remained in a coma for 11 days. Through fervent prayer by their church and family, Nancy awoke fully healed and whole, surprising all the doctors and hospital staff. Following this experience, Nancy felt called into ministry as an evangelist and began sharing her testimony in various venues. Her story reached over a quarter of a million people online. Eventually, Nancy transitioned into preaching the Word. Together, Eric and Nancy founded Nancy Pierre Ministries, a healing and deliverance evangelical outreach. They traveled across the U.S. and around the world conducting outreaches and crusades, winning souls for Christ. God soon began to reveal Eric’s anointing for pastoral ministry—a challenging journey, especially as they were the first pastors in their families. After 15 years of ministry, the Lord led Eric and Nancy to start a church in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Their vision: to bridge the gap between the arts and faith by creating a movement of influential people who impact their marketplace for the glory of God. Both attended The New York District School of Ministry and Global University’s Berean Bible School and hold credentials with The Assemblies of God. They have four beautiful children and reside in Brooklyn, NY. Who We Are

What We Believe at Marketplace Church

The Scriptures Inspired: The Bible is the revealed Word of God and our sole rule for discipline and government. The One True God: God exists as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—the triune Godhead. The Lord Jesus Christ: We believe in His deity, virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, atoning death, resurrection, ascension, and personal return. The Holy Spirit: The Helper who empowers and guides believers. Special Creation: God created the universe without evolutionary process. Satan: Originally perfect but rebelled; defeated at the cross, awaiting final judgment. The Fall of Man: Man was created good but fell through sin, incurring physical and spiritual death. Salvation: Only through Jesus Christ by repentance and faith, with inward and outward evidence of salvation. Sanctification: Separation from evil and dedication to God, obtainable by faith. Child Dedication: We practice child dedication, not infant baptism. Holy Communion and Baptism: Ordinances commanded by Christ, symbolizing faith and unity. Baptism in the Holy Spirit: Available to all believers, evidenced by speaking in tongues. Spiritual Gifts: Given by the Holy Spirit for the common good, including divine healing. The Church and Its Mission: The Body of Christ exists to evangelize, worship, and build believers in the image of Christ. The Fivefold Ministry: Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, and Teachers equip the Church. The Blessed Hope: The imminent return of Christ and resurrection of believers. The Millennial Reign: Christ’s thousand-year reign on earth following His return. The Final Judgment: All will be judged; eternal punishment awaits the unrepentant. The New Heaven and New Earth: Where righteousness dwells and God’s children reign forever. Racism: Sinful and contrary to God’s creation; all humans are equal and made in God’s image. Tithes and Offerings: Support the church’s ministries and care for the needy. Marketplace Church Code of Ethics

DISTRACTION WILL COST YOU WHAT DISCIPLINE COULD BUILD.

You won’t always feel motivated—but you can still stay committed. Every time you choose focus over feelings, you’re getting closer to the life you’ve been praying for.

Discipline today creates options tomorrow.

Don’t fear starting small—fear staying small because you were too afraid to grow!

Comfort will keep you where you are—but courage will take you where you’re called to be.
Choose courage, take the step, and trust God with the outcome. Highlight

Your next move doesn’t need an announcement.

Everybody doesn’t need access to your ideas, your vision, or everything you’re working on. Some things need time to grow without an audience.

Let your consistency speak.
Let your actions do the talking.
Let the harvest tell the story.

You don’t have to announce every seed you plant—let the harvest make the introduction.

Protect your vision. Keep showing up. Give people something to see, not just something to hear.

I have nothing to prove—only something to share.

I don’t need to convince anyone of my worth or perform for validation. I know who I am, I know what I carry, and I know that what I have to offer is valuable.

So I’ll walk into every room with confidence, humility, and assurance—not trying to be better than anyone, but no longer believing I’m less than anyone.

I am secure. I am confident. I am enough.

Anybody can say “I love you”—the real question is, can they see it?

Love is more than words. It’s consistency, presence, sacrifice, patience, and how you treat someone when nobody is watching. Real love doesn’t just speak—it shows up.
Love is not what you say. It’s what you show.

Don’t let what hurt you become the reason you hurt somebody else.

Hurt people often hurt people—but healed people help heal people. Face the pain, learn from it, forgive where you can, and refuse to carry yesterday’s wounds into tomorrow’s relationships.

Your pain may explain you, but it doesn’t have to control you. Heal so you can help others heal.

Making a mistake doesn’t make you a mistake.

Stop beating yourself up over choices you can’t change. Learn from them, grow from them, and keep moving forward. Your mistake may be part of your story, but it doesn’t have to define your future.
