Today at Saint Joseph’s Seminary four of our seminarians were admitted to Candidacy at a Mass celebrated by Bishop John O Barres, Bishop of the Diocese of Rockville Centre. Please pray for James, Kevin, John and Joseph as well as all of our seminarians as they continue their formation.

This past Friday, Fr. Bethge was invited to celebrate a Mass in Thanksgiving for the Altar Servers at St. Finbar Parish, Bath Beach. Many of the neighborhood parishes sent a contingent of servers as well. In this Mass the community prayed for an increase of Vocations to the Priesthood and Religious Life from this group of generous young men and women.

This afternoon our Brooklyn Seminarians on the college level of formation began their Academic Year at St. Andrew’s Hall at Seton Hall University. Please pray for all of our Brooklyn seminarians and all those in formation - especially the new men who begin their formation today. May the Lord guide them always and may Mary our Mother watch over them.

This evening Bishop Brennan gathered our seminarians for an end of summer BBQ as next week they begin a new year of formation. Please pray for our seminarians as they begin next week that this will be a year of growth as they deepen their love for Christ and His Church.

Last weekend we hosted our Summer Jeremiah Project at the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception in Huntington. It was an important moment of discernment, discussion and fraternity. We are grateful to Bishop James Massa and Fr. Joseph Fitzgerald for joining us throughout the weekend.

Last evening at Maimonides Park, the home of the Brooklyn Cyclones, a great Brooklyn tradition took place.

To honor all of our Valedictorians and Salutatorians of our Catholic Schools we had our annual Catholic Schools Night. Before the ceremony to honor these incredible students, the Collars(Priests) took on the Scholars(Principals) in a friendly softball game, to honor Catholic Education. Always an enjoyable evening - let us pray for Vocations!
