Bishop Brennan led us in a special Rosary Rally for Vocations. The Church in Brooklyn and Queens turned to the Blessed Mother in this month of the Holy Rosary to ask Mary to protect our seminarians and to intercede that there will be many generous young men and women who respond to God’s call to service in the Church.

"This morning, the Holy Father announced he will undergo surgery for a lung nodule in the coming days. The bishops of the United States join with the faithful and all people of good will in praying for his good health. May the hand of Pope Leo's surgeons be guided by the divine physician Jesus Christ. Please find a moment today, as I will, to offer a prayer for Pope Leo and his care team." - Archbishop Paul S. Coakley, President, USCCB

This weekend we hosted our Jeremiah Project at St. Joseph's Seminary, Dunwoodie for a discernment retreat. Whenever we make a retreat we enter into the silence. This weekend we remembered that silence is a gift. We remembered that God never shouts He whispers - we find Him in that still small voice. This year let us all make time to encounter the Lord in the silence because He wants us to be near enough to hear His call.

We thank Bishop Brennan for joining us and reminding us that Saints walk in our city.

Blessed Fulton J. Sheen;
Pray for us.

Last week all of the Vocation Directors throughout the United States of America gathered for our annual convention of NCDVD. Our very own Bishop Brennan concluded our week together with a Eucharistic Procession from the Seminary Chapel to the Amphitheater overlooking the Long Island Sound - reminding us and sending us forth encouraging us that in the Eucharist the Lord remains and goes with us.
