Father's Day Sunday: The Man in the Mirror

This Father's Day, join us for a powerful and life-changing experience as we explore "The Man in the Mirror."

Every man faces a moment when he must look beyond titles, achievements, responsibilities, and expectations and honestly confront the person staring back at him. Fathers, sons, husbands, mentors, and leaders all carry a unique influence, but true transformation begins when a man examines his heart, embraces God's purpose, and commits to becoming the man he was created to be.

Whether you are a father, have a father, miss a father, or are still becoming the man God has called you to be, this message is for you.

Come celebrate Father's Day with us as we honor the men among us and discover how God can shape ordinary men into extraordinary leaders, examples, and legacy builders.

What a weekend of celebration.

As New York celebrates the Knicks' 2026 NBA Championship, the Ebenezer Urban Ministry Center family celebrates something even more personal and precious, 23 years of faithful, visionary leadership under Bishop Dr. R. C. Hugh Nelson.

The Bible declares, "Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor" (1 Timothy 5:17). Today, we gladly give that double honor to a shepherd who has faithfully served God, loved His people, and led with courage, wisdom, and unwavering conviction.

Congratulations to the New York Knicks on bringing the 2026 NBA Championship home to New York.

And with even greater joy, congratulations to our beloved Bishop on 23 remarkable years of transformational ministry. Thank you for your sacrifice, your vision, and your faithful leadership.

Today, we celebrate a championship for our city and a champion for our church.

Double honor. Double celebration. To God be the glory.

A pastor's work is often measured by the messages we hear, but the greater story is found in the countless moments that never make the spotlight.

The prayers offered in private.
The hospital visits.
The late night phone calls.
The words of encouragement.
The difficult decisions.
The counseling sessions.
The leadership meetings.
The mentoring.
The vision casting.
The constant care for God's people.

The list is long because the calling is great.

As we count down to Pastor's Appreciation, just 1 day away, let us pause to thank God for faithful shepherds who pour into others with love, wisdom, and unwavering commitment.

Join us as we celebrate Bishop Dr. R. C. Hugh Nelson, Rev. Nelson, and their family, and let us honor the incredible impact of their leadership and service.

"Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls." Hebrews 13:17

Only Two Days to Go.

A Pastor Does So Much.

Before the sermon is preached, the prayers have already been prayed.
Before the doors open, countless unseen hours have already been invested.

They preach, teach, counsel, comfort, encourage, lead, plan, visit, mentor, pray, and carry the weight of caring for God's people with faithfulness and love.

In just 2 days, we have the privilege of saying one simple but powerful message:

Thank you. We see you. We appreciate you. We honor you.

Join the entire EUMC family as we celebrate Bishop Dr. R. C. Hugh Nelson, Rev. Nelson, and their family for their unwavering leadership, sacrifice, and commitment to the Kingdom.

"Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in preaching and teaching."
1 Timothy 5:17

The countdown has begun. Just 2 days to Pastor's Appreciation 23.

Come ready to worship.
Come ready to celebrate.
Come ready to show love.
