As we count up the days to Shavuot, here is a date to count down to: Shir HaMaalot鈥檚 May service & potluck dinner on Friday, May 12, 6:45pm at Luria Academy, 664 Bergen St.
You read it right: this month marks the return of our much-beloved POTLUCK DINNER! The expanded kiddush we all made happen last month was amazing and joyful and delicious, and this month will be an even more expansive experience.
But, like nearly everything else in a havurah community, a good potluck depends on what WE ALL can come together to do. To eat well, cook (or prepare) generously. If every person coming to services can bring 2 quarts of vegetarian food or beverages for 12, we will all eat well!
Here are some Shir HaMaalot potluck faves from years past:
- Salads (green or grain-based)
- Pasta (in cold salad form, baked ziti, mac n cheese)
- Lentils (stew, dal, cold salad)
