Last night, 20 members of our newly launched BHS Legacy Society gathered in our garden for an evening of community, gratitude, and shared purpose.

Members reflected on why they have chosen to include BHS in their estate plans, helping to ensure that we remain a vibrant and welcoming Jewish home for generations to come. Each member was formally inducted into the Society and presented with a Legacy Society lapel pin in recognition of their commitment.
We are deeply grateful to these supporters whose generosity will help sustain and strengthen our community’s future.

We’re excited to welcome as our guest speaker for Pride Shabbat this Friday!

Eliana is the New York Education & Training Manager at and a Jewish q***r and trans educator and artist. Eliana will speak on her work, Turn it and Turn it, a thoughtful reflection on self-discovery, learning, and staying open to new possibilities — especially when we’re not quite sure where to turn next.

Before services, the BHS LGBTQ Group will host a pizza & pasta dinner at 5:30pm for LGBTQ+ community members and their loved ones (RSVP in bio).

In partnership with Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan and the Israel Film Center, BHS is excited to host a screening of “Love, Statistically Speaking” on June 11 at 7pm, including a Q&A with the film’s director, Amichai Greenberg.

This funny and heartfelt film follows a widowed actuary who teams up with his free-spirited granddaughter to recover money stolen from his pool locker — leading to an unexpected journey through family, love, and connection.

Mazel Tov to Cantor Sarina Elenbogen-Siegel on becoming ordained after three wonderful years with BHS as Cantorial Intern! A special congratulations as well to Eden Anolick on their rabbinic ordination, having previously served with us as Rabbinic Intern. Rabbi Lippe joined in celebrating this special milestone alongside two beloved members of our clergy internship community. ✨

BHS took a congregational Jewish heritage trip to South America earlier this year with Cantor Ayelet Porzecanski and local Uruguayan Jewish tour guide, Diego Kraidelman. The group shared an incredible experience through Argentina, Uruguay, and Patagonia, exploring Judaism and shared history through other corners of the world, while building meaningful memories within our community. The trip included a special visit to in Argentina and a stunning stop at Iguazu Falls.
