St. Lydia's

St. Lydia's St. Lydia's is a Dinner Church in Brooklyn! We share a sacred meal Sundays at 304 Bond and some Mond

Lydia’s is a church that gathers to share a sacred meal, as the first followers of Jesus did. Simple unaccompanied music is sung, scripture explored, and prayers offered, all in the context of a home-cooked meal. The typical gathering pattern is:

-Dinner Church at 304 Bond St.: Sundays (soft start between 5:30-6pm) EXCEPT Second Sundays. Currently masks required inside, dinner is eaten together i

n the back garden.

-Waffle Church at 304 Bond St: Second Sundays (11am). Waffle church is an intergenerational service that prioritizes that participation and leadership of children and youth. Currently masks required inside, waffles are eaten together in the back garden.

“Day by day, as they spent much time together...they broke bread at home and ate their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having the goodwill of all the people.”

Eastertide began on April 4th with the beautiful and miraculous Easter Vigil. 🕯️ Now it continues with a season of congregant preaching. You’re invited to Dinner Church tonight (6pm!) for a warming dinner of herbed rice, roasted veggies, and chickpeas, and sermon from beloved congregant Hannah (Pocky Chinchilla). You are very welcome here! 🌺🌸🌻🌷

The New York Governor has declared a state of emergency, NYC is under a blizzard warning (for the first time in almost a decade!), and by Sunday evening, wind and snowfall conditions could become treacherous due to the major nor-easter headed our way. As of right now, the city is predicted to possibly accumulate up to 13-18 inches of snow between Sunday evening and Monday. Due to these extraordinary factors, and out of an abundance of caution, Dinner Church will take the week off and we will not gather tomorrow, Sunday, February 22nd. We will see you March 1st!

Please comment below or reach out to Debbie, Matthew, or anyone on the Leadership Table if you find yourself in need of help or support as a result of the winter storm.
