BOOM NYC A place where people from different walks of life can heal, discover their purpose, and develop a relationship with Jesus Christ

Jesus did not die and rise again simply to establish rituals—He gave us His Spirit so we could have direct relationship with God. In the Old Testament, God’s Spirit came upon specific people for specific purposes, but Jesus promised something greater:

“He lives with you and will be in you.” — John 14:17

Then in Acts 1:8:

“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you…”

Acts shows fearful disciples becoming bold because God’s Spirit was no longer just around them — He was dwelling within them. Jesus made a way for us not to follow God from a distance, but to walk with Him daily.

Jesus said that there is no greater love than to lay down your life for another. While this verse ultimately points us to Christ—the One who gave the greatest sacrifice of all—it also echoes a picture of sacrificial love displayed by those who served and gave their lives for people they may never have even met.

Today we honor courage. We honor sacrifice. We honor families who carried burdens that many never saw. And we remember that true love is not only found in words; it is revealed in what we are willing to give.

Thank you to the men and women who answered the call, carried burdens many never saw, and gave of themselves for others. Your service, dedication, and sacrifice will never be forgotten. We remember. We honor. We are grateful.

This Sunday marks a reminder that God desires relationship with His people. At Sinai He gave instruction, and in Acts He gave His Spirit. One revealed His heart through written law, the other wrote His heart upon people. We celebrate because God did not simply rescue us to leave us unchanged; He empowers, fills, transforms, and calls us into deeper intimacy with Him. Pentecost reminds us that what heaven promised, heaven fulfilled.

Prayer is where hearts are softened, burdens are exchanged, perspective is changed, and intimacy with God is built. Seeking Him is not about checking off a spiritual box; it is about communicating with the One who knows you fully and loves you deeply. Before healing comes, before breakthrough comes, before clarity comes — there is an invitation: humble yourself, pray, seek Him.

What is powerful here is that God was not resting because He was tired. God does not become weary (Isaiah 40:28). His rest was about completion, delight, and setting apart something holy.

A beautiful reflection from it:

Sabbath is not simply the absence of work; it is the presence of God, peace, and trust.
God established rest before striving became humanity’s pattern. He blessed rest, sanctified it, and made it holy.

Biblical womanhood is found in relationship with God.

The world constantly changes its definition of womanhood: be this, become that, prove yourself, reinvent yourself. But culture creates standards from broken places, and broken things cannot produce wholeness.

God says something different.

Before you are a wife, mother, business owner, leader, or anything else — you are His. Your identity was never meant to be built on appearance, validation, success, or the opinions of people.

The world says, “Find yourself.”
God says, “Find Me.”

Because identity is not something you create; it is something you receive from the One who created you.

This past Sunday, Pastor José honored women by highlighting something powerful throughout Scripture: motherhood was never limited to biology alone.

The Bible reveals many women who stepped into nurturing, protective, guiding, and sacrificial roles long before — or even without — conceiving children of their own. Their lives remind us that spiritual motherhood is not merely about giving birth physically, but about carrying the heart of God toward others.

Some women carried nations in prayer.
Some protected destinies.
Some nurtured purpose in others.
Some became safe places for the broken, the orphaned, and the overlooked.

Naomi became a mother figure to Ruth through wisdom, guidance, and covenant love.

Esther risked her life to preserve an entire people.

Jochebed protected Moses before the world ever knew his name.

These women show us that motherhood is deeply tied to stewardship, sacrifice, intercession, protection, and love.

In a culture that often measures a woman’s value by status, appearance, or productivity, God honors the heart that nurtures life — spiritually, emotionally, and physically.

A woman who walks with God becomes a refuge to others. Her words carry life. Her presence carries peace. Her discernment protects. Her prayers shift atmospheres. Her obedience leaves generational impact.

Biblical womanhood is rooted in reverence for God. External beauty fades, but a life surrendered to the Lord carries eternal weight and influence.

Deborah was never introduced as a biological mother, yet scripture calls her “a mother in Israel.”

Because motherhood in the Kingdom is not limited to what you birth physically — it’s also about what you nurture spiritually.

Some women give birth to children.
Others give birth to courage, wisdom, healing, prayer, leadership, and destiny in people around them.

A mother is someone who covers, guides, strengthens, intercedes, and helps bring life where there was once barrenness.

Deborah arose when a nation was weak and spiritually unstable — and through her obedience, an entire generation found direction again.

Never believe your value as a woman is only tied to physical motherhood.
