If you are a Homebound parishioner (unable to attend Mass due to illness or bedridden) and/or you know someone in need of recieving the Eucharist, and you live within the boundaries of either Saint Augustine or Saint Francis Xavier, please call the office to arrange to have a minister bring you or your loved one communion. There is a procedure to starting this process. Our Priest will be the first one to come out and meet with you. Afterwards, we offer trained Eucharistic Ministers that are qualified and Safe Environment trained to come into your home, pray with you and administer communion. 718-638-1880
“The faithful who are ill are deprived of their rightful and accustomed place in the Eucharistic community. In bringing communion to them the minister of communion represents Christ and manifests faith and charity on behalf of the whole community toward those who cannot be presentat the Eucharist. For the sick the reception of communion is not only a privilege but also a sign ofsupport and concern shown by the Christian community for its members who are ill”
Ways for your loved ones to stay connected to their church parish:
Bring them a church bulletin
Let them kinow what is going on in the church
Connect them to others
Set up their computers or tv’s so that they can watch online streaming Mass
Call the church to have someone bring them communion
Let us know if someone is at home, homebound and cannot come to church
We offer online streaming for Masses on Sundays at 9:30am and Wedndnesdays at 9:00am. Go to https://sasfx.org/ and click on Live Mass at the time of the service. You can also go to our page to watch Mass online.
