A very special Shabbat at B’ShERT. A young man who will have his Bar Mitzvah next week helped to lead services , a member who celebrated his Bar Mitvah 57 years ago was called to the Torah for an aliyah, we honored our teachers and our song leader, and the Social Action Committee joined with the League of Women Voters to present a voter education program followed by a post card writing session to communities of low voter turnout.
What a packed and fulfilling day!

Rekindle Cohort Brooklyn for Emily and me has drawn to a close. We learned so much together. We hope that we will continue to deepen our relationships without the benefit of a formal structure. Thank you to Rachel and Janille, our hosts and the participants.

Rekindle Cohort is a group of emerging Black, Jewish, and Black Jewish leaders who participate in The Rekindle Fellowship. The program brings participants together to break down barriers, engage in challenging dialogue, and build relationships that promote social change.
