No matter where your week took you, the weekend is a fresh door. Holy Cross has a Mass for you — Saturday evening if you need a gentler start to Sunday, or Sunday morning in English, Spanish, or Kreyol. Msgr. Malagreca and our whole parish community are here. You don't need to have your faith perfectly sorted out to walk through the door. You just need to show up.

Bring your pets for a blessing. This Sunday is the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi. FAITH FRIDAY ✨
Friday and the Sorrowful Mysteries go hand in hand — and not because we're supposed to be sad, but because sitting with suffering honestly is one of the bravest things we can do. Pope St. John Paul II, as Msgr. Malagreca shared in this week's bulletin, wrote an entire Apostolic Letter meditating on the Rosary as a way to contemplate the Face of Christ. On Good Friday, that face is marked by pain. And yet — that's exactly where the deepest love lives. The Rosary invites us to look, not look away.

This Friday, wherever you are — on your commute, at lunch, before bed — try praying even one decade of the Sorrowful Mysteries. Let it be honest. Let it be slow. Christ can handle our real emotions.

THANKFUL THURSDAY 🙏
Thursday is for the Luminous Mysteries — and honestly, that feels right for a day of gratitude. Think about what those five mysteries represent: Jesus baptized, Jesus at a wedding celebrating with friends, Jesus healing and calling people home, Jesus transfigured in glory, Jesus giving us the Eucharist. Every single one of them is a moment of gift. Msgr. Malagreca has been encouraging our parish to see the Rosary not as a checklist, but as a contemplation of the Face of Christ — and when you really look at His face in these mysteries, gratitude comes naturally.

Come to Mass this week and receive the gift that anchors the fifth Luminous Mystery — the Eucharist. Weekday Mass is at 8:30 AM Monday through Saturday. Even one weekday Mass can shift the whole feel of your week.

St. Bartolo Longo once described the Rosary as a 'sweet chain which unites us to God.' That's a striking image — a chain that doesn't bind, but connects. Msgr. Malagreca recently shared this quote in the bulletin, pulling it from Pope St. John Paul II's own letter on the Rosary. Bartolo Longo wasn't always a man of faith — he walked a long road back to the Church before becoming one of the greatest champions of the Rosary the world has ever seen. He was canonized a saint just last year. His story is proof that no one is too far gone.

What's one thing in your life right now that feels like it needs a 'chain' back to God? Bring it to the Rosary this week. Wednesday's mysteries are the Glorious ones — a reminder that resurrection is always possible.

Did you know the Rosary you may have grown up with is actually different from the one prayed today? In 2002, Pope St. John Paul II added five brand-new mysteries — the Luminous Mysteries — to help us sit with Jesus during His public ministry, the years of His life that often get skipped over. Msgr. Malagreca has been sharing this beautiful history with our parish: the Baptism of Jesus, the Wedding at Cana, the Proclamation of the Kingdom, the Transfiguration, and the Institution of the Eucharist. These aren't footnotes — they're the heart of who Jesus is in action.

FAITH FRIDAY ✨
In the bulletin this week, Msgr. Malagreca reflects on what he calls the responsibility to "Be holy as I am holy" — a direct echo of God's call in Scripture. He writes that purity and chastity have always been hard-won in any society, and that ours is no exception. But rather than leaving it there, he urges us to actively work and pray for a society and a Church that "clings to the values of the Gospel."

That word — clings — stands out. It's not passive. Holiness in a noisy world takes effort, intention, and community. It's something we pursue together, not alone.

THANKFUL THURSDAY 🙏
We loved what Msgr. Malagreca said in this week's bulletin about what Catholic life actually is — not the headlines, but the substance: "It is salvation in Christ, mercy, works of charity. It is the witness and love of the Virgin Mary and the Saints. Catholic life is prayer, and parish life, and community and fraternity."

Reading that, we felt genuinely grateful to belong to a community where that vision of the Church is lived out week after week — in this building, in these pews, in the people who show up for one another. That's worth naming. That's worth protecting.
