This COVID19 Plague is a lot like missionary training in Japan ( or elsewhere). .. Thrust into a new set of everyday functions and necessary death to old habits ( shaking hands, hugging, getting close to talk, eating with chopsticks, social distancing, bowing, figuring out train tickets reused till the last stop). I mixed COVID with Japan because many of these overlap.
Although missionaries feel like death when they mess up in the habitat of those who they have been called to represent Jesus; the death penalty is not usually an option, unlike COVID19 carelessness. But the stress is amazingly similar and we missionaries are likely fairing better than other Christians in the new tedium having done that kind of retraining before. But there were no Samuri walking around Iwakuni, Japan with their swords to decapitate cultural blunders as a few hundred years ago. I expect I might not have survived that kind of requirement. God's Kingdom is still coming...even today. Many of us just prayed that this AM...right?
