In ancient times, when constructing a building, a cornerstone was the principal stone used as the foundation. It served as the standard, so that the rest of the structure’s stones conformed to the cornerstone. Conversely, if the cornerstone were

to be removed, the entire building would eventually collapse. At CBC, Jesus is the foundation of His church and of each believer's life. "Behold, I lay in Zion a choice stone, a precious cornerstone, and He who believes in Him will not be disappointed" (1 Peter 2:6). Our Pastor:
Pastor Joel Gibbs received his Master's Degree from Southern Evangelical Seminary and is working on a Doctor of Ministry at Liberty University. Joel and his wife, Nancy, who grew up in Brookline, currently live in Milford with their two children.
