We recently received the following message and pictures from Rev. Dr. Benetra Mangum-Johnston about a collaborative VBS with Spring Ridge, Seven Springs, and Mt. Salem UMCs! Glory to God!

With grateful hearts, we celebrate the joy and blessings we experienced together during Vacation Bible School, July 19–21.

Under the leadership of Revs. Lannis May, Dr. Benetra Mangum-Johnson, and Haywood Hannah, the congregations of Spring Ridge, Seven Springs, and Mt. Salem United Methodist Churches came together for three wonderful evenings of faith, fellowship, and fun. Children, youth, and adults gathered to learn and celebrate the theme, “Jesus Is the Light of the World.”

Through Bible lessons, music, games, arts and crafts, prayer, and fellowship, hearts were filled with God’s love and light. It was especially meaningful to welcome parents on the final evening as we celebrated all that God accomplished during VBS.

We give thanks to God for the partnership among our three churches, the faithful volunteers, and every family who participated. May the light of Christ continue to shine brightly in our hearts, our homes, and our communities!

From Brother Keith:

Good evening, everyone. I am finishing up my first full day at Methodist Rehabilitation in Jackson. I had a very good day and worked very hard with PT and OT. They have evaluated my ability to do every little thing from head to toe. Therapy will begin on Monday and continue daily each weekday for several hours. Everyone here has been extremely helpful and kind. The medical staff are encouraging and have responded to every question I have. I am walking, with assistance, and my right arm is immobile for now. Thank you, to everyone, for the prayers, phone calls, messages and concern for me and my family. I hope to update on my progress as I continue here. God is in control and I don’t doubt that one bit!
