Hi all, we had a slight technical error with the photos in the previous flyer. It's been corrected so if you shared our previous post, please share this one now. And tell all your friends they are welcome to attend this special service even if they've never set foot in Southway before. We welcome all, believers or not! - Donna
Hi friends,
Whether you've sat in the Southway pews for decades or visited just once, you are part of our church family story. Come reconnect with old friends, share wonderful memories and worship together once more.
Our homecoming celebration this year will be Sunday, Sept. 13, beginning at 10 a.m.
Our message will be delivered by JM Holmes, the son of Jason and Sunday Holmes, formerly of Brookhaven. He's also the grandson of Jerry and Bonnie Holmes and Bill and Theresa Sones, all of Brookhaven.
As a recent graduate of Mississippi College with a B.S. in Communications, JM is continuing his studies at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary where he is pursuing the rigorous Master of Divinity in hopes of one day serving in pastoral ministry like his dad. He served in ministry on staff at Brandon Baptist, FBC Madison, and FBC Brookhaven, and has led worship for student events throughout Mississippi and around the world. Join us in praying for JM, that God would use him mightily and, in JM’s own words, “make me that of John 3:30: ‘He must increase, but I decrease.’”
We're excited to have Zion's Way Quartet, featuring Southway's own Jeff King, to sing for us. This will be one of their last performances together on their Farewell Tour.
A potluck lunch will follow in the Fellowship Hall.
On this special Sunday, we are pausing morning classes and evening activities to give families extra time to worship together and fellowship.
If you have any photos or memories to share, please post them here.
