This Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice reminds us of the powerful words of Jesus in John 15:13: “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”

Today, we give thanks for those who served with courage, sacrifice, and selflessness. May we never forget the cost of the freedoms we enjoy, and may we continue to pray for the families who carry both pride and loss on this day. 🇺🇸

What a special and meaningful day at the Atlanta Temple Corps today!

We were blessed by a wonderful time of worship together as a church family, celebrating all that God is doing in and through our corps. One of the highlights of the morning was the enrollment of two new Senior Soldiers!

Today was also filled with heartfelt moments as we honored and said farewell to Majors Jim & Susan Shiels. Their love, leadership, faithfulness, and dedication to our corps have made a lasting impact on so many lives. We are deeply grateful for the way they have served our congregation and community, and while we know God has exciting things ahead for them, they will truly be missed at Atlanta Temple.

We were also honored to dedicate the Commissioner Phil Needham Spiritual Life Library. It was especially meaningful to have members of the Needham family with us as we celebrated Commissioner Needham’s legacy, ministry, and love for spiritual growth and learning. We pray this space will continue to inspire and encourage generations to come.

The day concluded with a wonderful BBQ lunch and a special time of fellowship as we officially celebrated the retirement of Majors Shiels. Thank you to everyone who helped make today so memorable.

God has richly blessed our corps family, and today was a beautiful reminder of the power of worship, fellowship, legacy, and faithful service.

Because of your generosity, compassion, and faithful service, families receive support, children experience encouragement and belonging, neighbors find hope, and people from all walks of life are reminded that they are seen, valued, and loved.

Whether you give financially, volunteer your time, support programs, serve behind the scenes, or simply show kindness to someone who needs it—you are helping create a community filled with hope, care, and joy.

Thank you for standing with us as we continue to serve others in the name of Jesus and make a difference right here in Brookhaven. We truly could not do it without you. ❤️

This Sunday, May 17, directly following the morning worship service, you are invited to gather for a special moment as the Atlanta Temple library is officially dedicated as the Commissioner Phil Needham Spiritual Life Library in loving memory of Commissioner Phil Needham, a cherished member of the Atlanta Temple family. We are also deeply grateful to Commissioner Keitha Needham for generously donating many meaningful books and other items that will help make this space a lasting resource for spiritual growth and encouragement.

We hope to see you there!

One of the greatest gifts of ministry is hearing the stories of lives being changed. During National Salvation Army Week, we are reminded that the testimonies of those we serve continue to inspire and encourage us every day.

Stories of hope after hardship. Strength after struggle. Faith renewed. Families restored. Young people discovering purpose. Lives transformed by the love of Christ.

These testimonies remind us why we keep showing up. Why we keep serving. Why we continue to love, give, teach, pray, encourage, and walk alongside others in the name of Jesus.

The mission is not always easy, but seeing God at work in the lives of people across our communities reminds us that every act of compassion matters. Every conversation matters. Every seed planted matters.

Thank you to those who have shared their stories with us. Your testimony is a powerful reminder that God is still moving. ❤️

What a fantastic evening at our Spring Fiesta! ☀️🎉

Our church family came together to celebrate the end of an incredible spring semester with food, laughter, fellowship, and so much fun! Families enjoyed dancing, inflatables, carnival games, crafts, bubbles, water gun fun, and so many moments of joy together.

It was such a blessing to see so many people from our corps gathered together making memories and enjoying time with one another.

A huge THANK YOU to all of the volunteers who gave their time, energy, and hearts to make this event such a success. We are so grateful for each of you!

What a wonderful way to close out the spring season as we look ahead to all that summer will bring! 🌸☀️

During National Salvation Army Week, we pause to celebrate the mission that unites us all. Every officer, employee, and volunteer serves for one reason: to share the love of Jesus in practical, life-changing ways.

We feed the hungry, encourage the hurting, mentor young people, comfort those in crisis, and stand beside our communities in moments of need—not simply because it’s a job or a program, but because Christ first loved us.

Behind every meal served, every camp experience, every worship service, every conversation, and every act of compassion is a desire to point people toward hope, healing, and the love of God.

Thank you to the countless people who faithfully serve each day with willing hearts and open hands. Your ministry makes an eternal difference. ❤️
