St. Paul's Parish Brookfield CT

St. Paul's Parish Brookfield CT Transforming lives through Jesus. St. Paul's is an Episcopal parish & healing oasis within the worldwide Anglican Communion in Brookfield, Connecticut.

Walking into the church you may notice a small sign above the door that has hung there for decades. It’s just 3 words: Expect a miracle. At Saint Paul’s, you come to appreciate that little sign. It reminds us of the kind of God we have and the kind of church family we want to be. We can expect a miracle because we have a God who loves us and wants the best for us. At Saint Paul’s you’ll find a com

munity worshiping with the best contemporary praise music (our 10:30 service) and classic traditional hymns (the 8:00 service). Each Sunday you’ll hear a Bible-based message that will speak to your life and concerns. Above all, we pray that you’ll have a deep experience of Christ’s love for you—and carry it with you throughout the week. Wherever you’ve been and however you arrive, we hope you’ll enjoy the welcome of Christ and experience His transforming love in your life. In Christ, The Reverend Joseph Shepley

Gail Muriel Sparling Winkley
passed away on May 8, 2026

It is with deep sorrow that we share the news of the passing of our dear sister in Christ, Gail Muriel Sparling Winkley, who entered eternal rest this morning.
Born in Niagara Falls, New York in May 1937, Gail lived a long life marked by faith, service, and devotion to her family and church. She earned an associate degree from Alfred State College and carried throughout her life a steady commitment to caring for others and serving her community.
Gail was a faithful and active member of St. Paul’s, where—among many other ministries and quiet acts of service—she served for more than thirty years as parish secretary and as Head of the Altar Guild. She was also a long-time member of the Brookfield Garden Club and served as a Welcome Wagon hostess. Her faithful presence and quiet dedication were a blessing to the parish for many years.
She is survived by her husband, Don Winkley, with whom she shared nearly 70 years of life—including 67 years as husband and wife—a remarkable witness to enduring love and lifelong companionship; her daughters, Marla Brazier and Donelle Donadio; and her grandchildren Kaelan and Conor Donadio, Robin Rinaldi, and Haley Brazier.
We give thanks for Gail’s life and her faithful witness among us. Please keep Don, her children, grandchildren, and all who mourn her passing in your prayers, that they may be sustained by God’s comfort and peace in the days ahead.

Condolences can be sent to:

May Gail rest in peace and rise in glory.
All we go down to the dust; yet even at the grave we make our song: Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.
