We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Pastor Lauren Canary as our new pastor, effective July 1, 2026. Last week, our District Superintendent, Reverend Dean Prentiss, introduced Pastor Canary to our Leadership Team, and we are incredibly enthusiastic about the unique gifts she brings to our congregation.

Pastor Canary is a graduate of Central Michigan University, where she double-majored in Public and Nonprofit Administration and Religion. She comes to us from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary and has served remotely with Nardin Park UMC and the Wesley Foundation. Pastor Lauren is eager to begin her ministry with both Bronson FUMC and Colon UMC, sharing her passion for community service and relational ministry.

Risen Christ, the Easter story is a reminder that nothing could contain you—no tomb, no body, no violent act. You are alive in the world, unfettered and beckoning us to follow. Lead me to the places you have called me to be. Show me where you’re headed. I want to be there, too. Amen.

When we backed Jesus into a corner,
he loved and loved and loved again.
In this war-torn world,
we could do the same.
We could ground the bomber planes,
empty the gun cartridges,
unclench our fists, soften our jaws.
They say it can’t be done,
but don’t believe them.
In this war-torn world, we could try—
love and love and love again.
