The fire that burns the house also tempers steel. If we are only “good” when it is easy, then we were never good at all. We were merely “well-behaved."

When the road before you becomes impassable, try this one thing: Look up.

Philosophy tells us that the barriers before us are indifferent, but faith tells us that the mountain is subject to the climber.

Remember, Rome believed the Alps would prevent any foreign aggressor from marching on Rome, but Hannibal took thousands of troops with elephants over the mountains because he believed he could.

You can choose what you do with the opposition before you. You can cry and scream it isn’t fair or you can look up. The sun will rise again tomorrow. Blessings! Pastor T

We’ve heard the proverb, “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks.” But is that to imply that people set in their ways can’t change?
I believe change for the better is possible. But how? Change is possible when we allow our world views to be challenged.

This truth is illustrated in the chemistry of the "Added Thing."
The color blue is a noun. But a noun without a verb is static. As such it can only ever be itself. It is only when blue allows the intrusion of yellow that it discovers it had the potential to become a verdant green—from a static reality to a forest within it.

It is only when we allow the "other"—the stranger, the sorrow, the unexpected joy, the humbling failure—to be added to our lives that we find our true spectrum.

Consider the simplicity of the rainbow. We are taught as children that colors are distinct—that red is red and blue is blue. But the eye of the soul sees a different truth.

Red does not "become" orange through a sudden leap; it does so through a graceful surrender. It allows the warmth of yellow to bleed into its edges until it is no longer just fire, but fruit; no longer just heat, but a harvest.

Thank you P.T.L.D. for your life of service, sometimes unappreciated, for your country and community since your early 20's, in military, as peace officer in various branches and levels, as pastor, friend, husband and father in all honorableness, integrity and honesty, leading by example, selfless readiness to help a wounded soldier, a brother, sister, child.. always ready to lend a helping hand, fill an unplanned last minute vacant position, always on call.. ready to do the right thing, whatever it takes.. 'May the Lord bless you and protect you.
May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you.
May the Lord show you His favor and give you His peace.'

I have been young, and now am old, yet I’ve not seen the righteous forsaken or his children begging for bread. No, never. God’s seed is anointed and created for victory over poverty of mind, body, and spirit. There is no lack for He is the Shepherd.

I’ve been young, floated northern seas, and seen the world from a ship’s porthole. Based on my experiences and travels, I think I’m somewhat qualified to speak to young men who want the best of life.

The height of life’s experiences is to take hold of the woman that God has for you, nurture and love her, and she will honor you all the days of your life. This has been my experience for more than 47 years.

Young man have children. It is ordained of God to be fruitful and multiple. Your progeny will respond to your love, but recoil in fear at your disdain. Your children are like jewels, precious stones in your eternal crown. Love them and be willing to die for them and their mother.

Young men, honor your God. Live life to the fullest—a fullness found in faith, one woman, and many children. I have learned this to be wisdom and truth. Blessings! Pastor T.
