Update from the leader of an indigenous ministry in that oversees more than 3,600 house churches:
“Some of our believers have been able to reach us through brief calls on landline telephones—conversations that rarely last more than 30 seconds to a minute before the line is cut.
“Many members of our faith community were directly and indirectly affected by the government’s violent crackdowns, repression, and killings. Several believers were arrested, some were injured, and tragically, a number of them were killed by state forces.
“Tens of thousands [of people] have been arrested and imprisoned. According to information from inside detention centers and prisons, detainees are being subjected to severe persecution, brutal interrogation, torture, and sexual violence.
"Churches continue their activities where they can, despite existing restrictions. Prayer and worship gatherings have become the central focus of church life. Believers are continuously praying for the improvement of the country’s situation and for deliverance from the pressures that weigh on society.

“We urgently and earnestly ask for special, continuous, and collective prayer for the people of Iran and for their deliverance from oppression, violence, and bloodshed. We plead for freedom from decades of tyranny that has dominated the lives of the people, plundered the nation’s resources, and inflicted profound suffering.
“Our hope is that one day we will be able to hold our church gatherings freely and without any obstacles in Iran, and that we may openly share the Word of God in this beautiful land…

“Many people—especially those within our community of believers—face serious difficulties earning a livelihood. A large number of our believers work as daily wage laborers, and with their work now stopped, they have no other source of income.
“Severe shortages have made livelihood conditions extremely difficult; in some cases, the prices of basic goods have increased by more than ten times.”
