The 1683 Siege of Vienna was the moment Europe held its breath. An enormous Ottoman force surrounded the city, its walls buckling, its defenders exhausted, its fate nearly sealed. Then, at the very edge of disaster, King Jan Sobieski of Poland rode in with one of the most astonishing battlefield turnarounds in history! His arrival wasn’t quiet. It wasn’t subtle. It was the kind of moment that makes you rethink what courage looks like.
