One more transition home means one thing: more children are being rescued. Because of that, we needed a larger space to welcome them in safely.

This home is the very first step in each child’s healing journey — a temporary place where they can rest, recover, and begin to experience love and stability before moving into our Promise Land and, ultimately, their forever families.

As more children are rescued, we’ve had to expand not only our hearts, but our space as well. And now, because of faithful partners who stand with us, that space is finally here.

We believe in a generation that will change its own nation, and throughout 25 years of Life Impact, we have witnessed this transformation; thanks to those who were once victims of exploitation, helping others be transformed.

Dona Ana is one Brazilian mother Life Impact has supported for a while now. While depending on recycling to survive, earning just $16 a month, we have helped her with a garden to sell what she grows.

As we continue helping her, a mission team (.faith) ministering with Life Impact recently joined us on one of our weekly prevention visits. They were so deeply touched by Dona Ana’s smile, even in the most difficult situations, they decided to help renovate her recycling cart.

This will allow her to sell cilantro and make it look beautiful and clean, helping her grow her new business and earn more income-all with the mission to prevent the exploitation of her children and grandchildren, and give them a better tuture.

Many of the children trafficked to Thailand’s red-light districts come from Burma.

Because of the ongoing civil war, young boys and girls are sexually exploited or forced into service by the military junta. We are fighting this at the root through our two safe homes and prevention projects on the Thai-Burma border.

By focusing on prevention, rescue, and healing in this region, we ensure these children don’t become soldiers or victims of exploitation.

In Brazil, May 18 is recognized as the National Day to Fight Abuse and Sexual Exploitation of Children and Teenagers — part of the “Orange May” awareness campaign.

At Life Impact Brazil, during the month of May, we raise awareness among children, families, schools, teachers, and the broader community. We have seen real impact from this campaign, including an increase in reports from children—an important sign that more are finding the courage and support to speak up.

In celebration of Indigenous Peoples’ Day in Brazil, our team in the Amazon welcomed representatives from Aldeia Josefa, who shared traditional songs in their native language, showcased handcrafted straw art, and presented everyday objects used in their community.

In this region, we believe it is essential to teach the children in our prevention projects the importance of respecting Indigenous peoples.

We know these experiences help them grow and better understand the world around them.
