What if faith isn't about having all the answers?

Many of us were taught that faith means certainty. No questions. No doubts. No loose ends.

But what if God is bigger than our explanations? The mystery of the Trinity reminds us that God is not a puzzle to solve or an exam to pass. God is a relationship to explore.

You don't have to have every question answered before you come.
You don't have to have your life cleaned up before you belong.
You don't have to pretend certainty when what you really have is hope.

There is room for seekers, doubters, saints, sinners, and everyone in between.

What if God's story has always been about ordinary people who are still becoming?

This Sunday, we begin a new journey through Genesis and Exodus called "People in Progress."

Over the coming months we'll meet Abraham, Sarah, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, and others whose lives were marked by doubts, failures, questions, setbacks, and second chances. They weren't perfect people. They were people learning to trust God one step at a time.

Maybe that's our story too. Whether you're a lifelong churchgoer, a seeker, a skeptic, or someone trying faith again after a long time away, there's room for you here.

Because nobody arrives fully formed. Not Abraham. Not Moses. Not Peter. Not us.
We're all people in progress.

"Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders..."

As we celebrated Pentecost Sunday, this beautiful piano rendition of Oceans reminded us that faith is often an invitation to step beyond certainty and trust that God is already waiting for us there.

Thank you to all who use their gifts to enrich our worship and point us toward Christ.

May we all have the courage to step out of the boat when Jesus calls.

A week after Pentecost, the prayers remained.

Prayers for healing.
Prayers for loved ones.
Prayers for new beginnings.
Prayers whispered through tears and offered in hope.

This Sunday, our elders gathered around the prayer cross and lifted those prayers to God.

We believe that faith is not carrying our burdens alone. It is trusting that God carries them with usโ€”and that a community of grace carries them too.

May every prayer offered here be met with God's presence, peace, and love.

You don't have to carry everything alone. If you would like someone to pray with you or for you, please reach out. We'd be honored to hold that prayer with you.

Yesterday we installed and commissioned our elders and deacons for a new season of ministry at First Christian Church.

During worship, our elders, deacons, and congregation entered into a covenant together, promising to support one another, care for the church, seek the unity of the Spirit, and serve Christ faithfully in the years ahead.

When asked if they would accept these responsibilities, their response was simple and profound: "We will, by the grace of God."

Leadership in the church is never about power or position. It is about service, prayer, love, and faithfulness.

Please join us in praying for these leaders, for our church family, and for the future God is shaping among us.

Together, we move into God's futureโ€ฆby the grace of God.

There is room for you at the table.

This Sunday is Trinity Sunday...the day the church pauses to remember that at the heart of the universe is not power, competition, or fear, but the loving relationship of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

And the good news of the gospel is that God has made room for us.

Whether you've been in church your whole life, you're carrying questions, you've been hurt by religion, or you're simply searching for a place to belong, the invitation is the same:

Pull up a chair.

Join us this Sunday as we explore "At the Table with God."

One of the most meaningful moments of Pentecost Sunday was the commissioning of our Vision Team.

As a congregation, we gathered around these leaders, laid hands on them, and prayed for wisdom, courage, and discernment as they help our church seek God's direction for the future.

At First Christian Church Broken Arrow, we believe the future of the church isn't determined by one person or a committee behind closed doors. We seek it together through prayer, listening, and conversation.

As this team begins its work, we invite you to pray with us:

๐Ÿ™ That we would listen well.
๐Ÿ™ That we would have the courage to follow where God leads.
๐Ÿ™ That we would become the church our community needs us to be.

What is one hope you have for the future of our church?

On Pentecost Sunday, we were delighted to welcome six new members into the life of First Christian Church Broken Arrow:

Lloyd and Nancy Conn
Linda Burrows
Mindy Bennett
Tana Thompson
Barb Droll

As they joined our church family, we all stood together and reaffirmed our common confession of faith in Jesus Christ. It was a powerful reminder that membership is not simply about joining an organization; it is about sharing a life of faith and walking in community together.

We are grateful for each of these new members and the gifts, experiences, and perspectives they bring to our congregation. When you see them in the coming weeks, be sure to introduce yourself and help us extend a warm welcome.

โค๏ธ Welcome home.

What do the Trail of Tears, the city of Broken Arrow, and Pentecost have in common?

A story of beginning again.

Here's a clip from Sunday's message about hope, renewal, and the God who still brings life out of places that seem broken.

What a Pentecost Sunday.

Yesterday we gathered to pray, worship, celebrate new beginnings, and seek the guidance of God's Spirit.

๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ We offered our prayers for renewal.
๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ We received the light of Christ.
๐Ÿ™ We commissioned a Vision Team to help discern God's future for our church.
โค๏ธ We welcomed six new members into our church family.

Pentecost reminds us that the Holy Spirit is not only a story from the past. The same Spirit who formed the church is still at work today.

God is still gathering people.
God is still renewing hearts.
God is still breathing life into the church.

What moment from Pentecost Sunday will stay with you this week?
