Mark and Danielle (We) are rolling into town late tonight from vacation and are going to need to postpone the next meeting that we lead for Young Adult group till next week.

Anyone want to take the lead and get the group together this week?

ARE YOU HUNGRY?

That was the question in the last post and I wanted to pitch something at you for a name for our group.

Cordell mentioned this idea on Sunday.

Y&H - Young and Hungry.

Or some variation on the theme. It comes off kind of funny and a little weird when thinking about a church group . . . But it makes you think and wonder why a group would call themselves that.

Guys and Girls!

This is Mark and I want to connect today with you.

So i have been thinking alot this weekend and I want to connect with you all today just to. . . . Fire you up a bit!

As we get to know each other, you are going to find out that my lovely wife . . . Danielle . . . (For anyone who forgot :) ) and I like things a bit on the crazy side! We don't care much for tradition. We don't like things slow or boring and we don't like to spin wheels without going somewhere. We are jump off the cliff people and figure it out on the way down!

Each of you are a gift from God to us. That is how we see it. I am excited to continue to get into your lives and you into ours. I want you to know that our time, house, and lives are open to you . . . PERIOD.

Our intention in what we are doing together with you is to see our lives, together, become lives that we will look at someday soon and simply say "WOW! HOW DID THAT HAPPEN!?" Then look at each other and say, "IT HAD TO BE GOD!"

(What I am saying here would be WAY better in person, but this will do for now.)


I am going to leave you with this for right now. What is coming for us as a group is going to be defined simply by one thing . . . Are You Hungry?

I already know the answer to that question . . . And it is YES.

This week I want you to watch this message by Carl Lentz, the pastor of Hillsong Church in NYC. IT says everything on my heart for you . . . .at LEAST as good as I can ;) Rrrrrriiigght . . .

Hey y'all! There will be NO Living Word Young Adults tomorrow. The next time we all meet up again will be NEXT Sunday, July 31st. For next week's meeting we will be going to Mark and Danielle Woodward's house for lunch following church (Noon-ish). It's going to be PASTA DAY! With that being said, Woodwards will be contributing a red sauce and a dessert. We will need people to contribute the following: Bread, pasta, sauce, drinks, dessert, and salad. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE comment on this post what you would like to contribute!!! We need to hear from you in order to make this meeting run smoothly! Lastly, at the meeting next Sunday, we will be discussing key elements of birthing and leading something life changing for our age group, so make sure you come ready to share ideas on how to accomplish that vision!! Be praying this week for REVIVAL within the lives of young adults all throughout our town, our region, our state, and our nation! Hope to see you all next week! Be sure to respond to this post!

The Panama Mission Trip Garage Sale Fundraiser will be from noon until 5:00pm at the church today! Be sure to stop by to support our high school youth group's upcoming excursion!

This Sunday we will not be having a regular meeting. Instead, we will be joining the rest of the church at Putnam Park for our annual summer church picnic.

After church, we will head over to the park to enjoy a nice lunch (yes, that means FREE FOOD, FOLKS), and to partake in some volleyball, ultimate Frisbee, and other fun activities!

Also, the pool will be rented out for the day so you are welcome to bring your suit along!

Keep in mind that this would be a great opportunity to invite your friends! It will be a fun event for everyone!

There will be a GARAGE SALE at the church this Friday and Saturday to support the Panama Mission Trip that our high school youth group, Impact, will be going on in August.

The team of 7 students and 2 leaders are in need of support to make this trip possible.

You can help by either attending this event, donating items to the sale, and/or by helping with set-up and tear down.

If you would like to help please contact Erin Kloepping via Facebook or phone at (608) 293-0477.

Also, the garage sale will still be set up on Sunday after church if there are any remaining items.

Please also join us in supporting this group through prayer as they prepare to embark on this adventure to share the good news of Christ with the people of Panama and as they lend a helping hand to missionaries, Luke and Jessica Robl.

Awesome time today at Indian Airsoft in Rock City with Mark, Josh, Nate, Matt, Carl, Paul, Elisha, and Israel. Pictures coming soon.

Definitely will plan one more time out there this summer!

Word on our next event will be out early this week.

Thanks to all who came out today for our first official gathering. Thanks to all who served with food, cleanup, and tech (Paul Johns) :)

It was great getting to spend time together and see the graduating seniors plug in with our "older" young adults.

God loves you all and so do we!

Guys and gals, I am looking forward to tomorrow. I have been praying for you all and for our time and I wanted to plant a "seed" of thought with you.

Came across this excerpt from a book by Sam Keen called "Fire in the belly: On being a man"

It is true for every person and as soon as I saw it, I knew it had put into words what had been rattling around in my heart for days now in anticipation of our first meeting together.

"There are two questions a man must ask himself: the first is 'Where am I going?' And the second is 'Who will go with me?' . . . . If you ever get these questions in the wrong order you are in trouble."

God wants to do some very specific things through what we are starting tomorrow. I believe it is to establish a place that EVERY SINGLE PERSON that takes part will be able to say " That group,and those people were ones that helped me find my purpose in God and a relationship with Him that made me who I am."

That is my "Where I am going" As I head into tomorrow.
