Live Forward
Devotional
History is headed somewhere. And if you are in Christ, so are you. Paul closes this section of Philippians with a stunning declaration: our citizenship is in heaven, and we are waiting for a King who is coming to make everything new. Not to whisk us away from this world, but to transform it. Jesus was physically raised from the dead, and that resurrection is a preview of what is coming for all who trust in Him. This changes how we live today. We do not disengage from the world because Jesus is coming. We engage more fully, because everything done in His name carries eternal weight. We pray. We forgive. We love our neighbors. We share the gospel. We refuse to be cynical. Not to earn our place in the future, but because we already belong to the One who holds it. You do not have to live haunted by the past or paralyzed waiting for the future. You get to live forward, today, as someone who knows how the story ends. Press on. Christ has already taken hold of you, and He is not letting go.
Bible Verse
"But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables Him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like His glorious body." - Philippians 3:20-21
Reflection Question
If you truly believed that everything you do in Jesus’ name carries eternal significance, what would you do differently starting today?
