We are coming up on Mother's Day this Sunday. Which means if Mom's not doing anything or you have a mother figure in your life you can bring them to worship on Sunday. Spend time with Mom. I wouldn't know where id be without my mom. And those who lost your mom, we want to reach out the hand of family here at Brockport First Baptist. Happy Mothers Day to all the Mothers out there.

Peace and Love,

Zach

On this sad day when the US Supreme Court effectively destroyed the last vestiges of the Voting Rights Act, a little American Baptist history.

April 29, 1840: the American Baptist Anti-Slavery Convention held its first session in New York. Until then, the Baptists had maintained a strained peace by carefully avoiding discussion of the topic of slavery. But in 1840, a Baptist Anti-Slavery Convention brought the issue into the open.
After several years of deliberations, the Baptist Board for Foreign Missions formally voted that slave holders would not be eligible to be appointed as missionaries, a proposal that had come from the Alabama Baptist Convention. Southern members of the Baptist Board for Foreign Missions withdrew, forming the Southern Baptist Convention. The split was completed in 1845.
