Greetings Friends! Pastor Micah here - with the weather looking bad for tomorrow, we’ve decided to cancel our Bible Study. I’ll also ask for some personal prayers - I find myself in the Emergency Department at Augusta Health with a bad stomach bug or food poisoning. Still waiting on tests to come back for answers, so prayers are appreciated!

Greetings Friends - Pastor Micah here. Unfortunately, Juniper is dealing with a touch of bronchitis - and so I’ll be at home with her today and maybe tomorrow (Thursday, 7/24). We’ll see you all on Sunday! Have a blessed week!

We have a new mission statement! Formerly, it was "to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world." this new statement clarifies the second part, demonstrating how that work is to be done.

Who is ready to love boldly, serve joyfully, lead courageously with us?

United Methodist bishops — in collaboration with the Connectional Table — have adopted a vision that says United Methodists “love boldly, serve joyfully, and lead courageously.”

This Friday you are invited to join us as we gather at noon, the hour Jesus was nailed to the cross, to reflect on the different accounts of Jesus' last words.

Help us help our neighbors!!

This Sunday at noon we'll be having our annual auction. This year, the proceeds are going to our benevolence fund, which we set aside to help community members when they are in a tight spot. We've been able to help so many people over the past year (which is amazing!) but this means the fund is getting low.

We have quilts, electronics, home decor, baked goods, and the ever-exciting mystery grab bags (and more)!

Come have some fun and help your neighbors in the process. Happy bidding!

Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of the Christian season of Lent. During Lent, Christian fast, pray, seeking to sift their souls and turn away from sin, evil, and harm in their lives.

But what might it look like not just to search our own souls individually but the soul of our church, our nation, and our global community? How might we repent of sins that we feel too small to actually affect?

That'll be our discussion tomorrow evening. If that's a question that's on your heart, come and join in!

This week we find scripture wrestling with some of the big questions that many of us wrestle with around life and death and eternal life. If we zoom out, we can see this as a larger discussion about what hope means in a world that seems out of control.

If you are struggling to find hope, come join the conversation this Sunday at 11am! If you want to read up before hand, we'll be exploring 1 Corinthians chapter 15.

This week we'll be having some real talk. The world can be a very scary place, and a lot can change in a blink of an eye. A lot of the things that keep us up at night are well beyond our control. What CAN we control? How can we keep stable, let alone try and make a positive impact in the world?

We'll be exploring these questions and more when we dive into 1 Corinthians 13 on Sunday.

A letter to President Trump from our Council of Bishops, which is made up of all UMC bishops from around the world, active and retired

As Christians we believe that we are called to care for our neighbors, regardless of race, religion, status or nationality. These are not uniquely Christian values. We share these values and teachings with persons of Jewish, and Muslim faith as well as persons of other faiths. Coming to the ai...

Bishop Sue Haupert-Johnson shared a pastoral letter with the VAUMC clergy and laity today, January 30.

She said in part, "I imagine many of us today in the U.S. feel or know that members of our communities are experiencing great uncertainty, fear, anger, anxiety, and the sense of being overwhelmed in light of the many executive orders from President Trump and suggested next steps from the Trump Administration.

As United Methodists in the commonwealth of Virginia, we represent the political spectrum from Independent, to Republican, to Democrat. What we are first, however, is Christians.

Disciples of Jesus Christ. People changed by the Gospel. People seeking to reflect the light of Christ in all we say and do. In this transition time in the U.S. let us be sure that we see each other."
