The Knights, started in nearby New Haven, was formed to provide financial help, personal aid and assistance, and social and intellectual fellowship to its members and their families. e charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism; and through more than 14,000 local units, the Knights are committed to making the community a better place. Under the leadership of Grand Knight Benjamin Smith, the organization sponsors blood drive, participates in local church activities, runs charity projects each year and awards a number of college scholarships and catholic school grants. The Bristol Knights are a favorite at the area's 4th of July parade.
