Hello Harvest family and friends,
Happy midweek! The heat is definitely reminding us that summer has arrived here in the Appalachian area. I hope everyone is staying cool, comfortable, and looking forward to wonderful summer plans, especially with this being the last week of school for many.
I also want to encourage everyone to continue lifting up our brothers and sisters in need through prayer. Many are still facing challenges and could use extra prayers, encouragement, and God’s guidance.
Today I would like to mention Israel's ruin but Gods greater plan and how it can reflect on our own battles today.
In the middle of Israel's ruin, God spoke a powerful promise: “I am returned to Jerusalem with mercies.”
"Therefore thus saith the LORD; I am returned to Jerusalem with mercies: my house shall be built in it, saith the LORD of hosts, and a line shall be stretched forth upon Jerusalem. Cry yet, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; My cities through prosperity shall yet be spread abroad; and the LORD shall yet comfort Zion, and shall yet choose Jerusalem." - Zechariah 1:16–17 (KJV)
God did not return with judgment, anger, or rejection He returned with mercy. Even after failure, God’s heart toward His people was restoration. The temple would be rebuilt, the city restored, and comfort would come again.
These verses remind us that God is not finished with what looks ruined. He rebuilds broken places. He restores weary hearts. He speaks hope over situations that seem forgotten. Where people see ashes, God sees restoration.
