We make plans for everything.
Career plans, financial plans, family plans, 5-year plans.
But Proverbs asks a question that stops us in our tracks: Are you planning with God, or are you planning around Him?
Here are a few things worth sitting with this week:
Your plans have a ceiling; the Lord doesn't.
"In his heart, a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps." Proverbs 16:9.
You can make your plans, but you cannot out-plan God. Whether you acknowledge Him or not, His plans will prevail.
Plans fail for lack of counsel. God has placed wise people in your life for a reason. The question is whether you are willing to slow down, listen, and trust what they have to say.
Humility in the planning process is not a weakness at all; it's applying wisdom.
We cannot see what God sees. We cannot know what He knows. Trusting God in the planning process is not about getting what you want. It is about fully surrendering to what the Lord has already prepared.
Make your plans, but hold them loosely.
Bring it to the hands of the Lord and surrender to him. Our goal as believers is to glorify the Lord and follow His plans.
