Only new converts and very young Christians should be infants in the faith. At some point, we all need to get growing in relationship with God and Jesus as well as growing in our knowledge of the Word. We must be so deeply rooted in Christ that our joy is full and we are able to stand against any winds of false teaching. How do we develop this relationship? How do we get deep roots and an immovable faith? Join us on Sun. 6/14 at Friendship Baptist Church @ 10a.m. (also Facebook Live my page) as we continue our series in Colossians with "Deep Roots, Firm Faith" (Colossians 2:6-8; focus on vs. 6-7). Discover the joy and necessity of getting deep roots so your faith is unshakeable!

Keep the faith! Often times, that phrase is used by fans about their favorite team, that no matter how bad things look, you believe in them and you'll stick with them forever. The same is true in following Jesus. Things will get tough. Many voices will try to draw us away from the truth. Those voices make plausible, reasonable arguments. But they are false. How do we win this battle? How do we keep the faith with so many voices attacking us! Join us on Sun. 6/7 at Friendship Baptist Church @ 10a.m. (also Facebook Live my page) for the message, "Maintaining Faith in the Danger Zone" (Colossians 2: 1-5,8). Learn how to hold on to the one true anchor and keep the faith!

It has been a great privilege to be called by God to be a pastor. Yet being a pastor is not for the timid. Despite what many think, a pastor is not a CEO, an entertainer, or a one-day a week job. Pastoring is very hard work. It can be joy-filled, terrifying, exhausting, trying, wearing, emotional toil, with some of those things overlapping on the same day! And the Bible details that hard work along with some responsibilities of the sheep. Discover more as we continue our series in Colossians on Sun. 5/31 at Friendship Baptist Church @ 10a.m. (also Facebook Live my page) for the message, "Of Pastors and Their Sheep" (Colossians 1: 24-25,28-2:1). Come and celebrate what God has ordained, the marvelous relationship between a pastor and their sheep!

As we've been going through chapter 1 of Colossians, I've been reminded how rich this letter is in its depth of theology and how much it acknowledges Jesus as supreme over all creation. Our series is called "Supreme Christ, Supreme Living," indicating that there is a best life Christians can have. Part of that, of course, is eternal life. But there is a supreme life we can have right here, right now because of our supreme Lord. If you want that supreme living, join us on Sun. 5/24 at Friendship Baptist Church @ 10a.m. (also Facebook Live my page) for my message, "Christ In You, the Hope of Glory" (Colossians 1:24-27). Discover the abundant and beautiful walk you can have right now with Jesus!
