Loneliness knows no season. In summer, those who might provide a connection for a shut-in or depressed person may go on vacation, leaving that person to struggle even more than usual. This week, make it a point to check in on someone in person who feels isolated. A simple “I was in the neighborhood, and I thought about you” can go a long way toward boosting someone’s spirits.

The St. John’s Museum is open today from 1 until 3 PM. Rhonda Vonnahmen and Jill Wagenblast continue to devote their time and energies selecting new items to display. Have you visited the museum before? it’s worth another look June 14 from 1 to 3 PM at St. John’s UCC, 216 North St., Brighton, IL. A chairlift is available for those who find the stairs challenging.

St. John’s UCC supports the Brighton Food Pantry. Pantry needs in June include salad dressing and mayonnaise. Bring your food pantry donations to St. John’s UCC, 216 North St., Brighton, IL. The Brighton Food Pantry serves those in need in the Southwestern School District.
