There seemed to be a "Generational" theme at this event. Many of our team had conversations with guests who were at the event only because parents had attended many years ago and it saved their marriage. Here are two of the most notable ones we heard.
God Story
A newly married gal when asked how she heard about the Weekend to Remember said, "I will never forget when I was 7 years old at our lake house and my mom and dad came home from the WTR, because my dad sat us all down in the living room, began weeping and asking us for forgiveness for not being the father and husband he should be. So when I got married I wanted to get whatever they got from the Weekend to Remember because my Dad was forever changed by his experience.
Also, there was a father and his two son-in-laws working in the shop as volunteers, it was also neat to hear how the young men were there due to the influence of their father-in-law and his story of how the WTR impacted his life 3 years earlier.

It soften my and the wife's heart, letting us open up and talk about our marriage. Just from the first night, we had grown closer. On our date, we were giddy and smiling like when we first started dating. We now have more tools and knowledge for our marriage to keep going. God is the center of our marriage now. Christ is King.

This is the second time we have attended this event. The first was as a young couple in the early 2000s, and now we are in our sixties. The second time around helped us remember and brought us even closer where we share a desire to help others and mentor the younger generation.

We had a very bad argument on day 2. We drove off I blew up and my wife wanted to jump out of our moving truck! We decided to go back and she was able to open up about some things and everything turned out for the best! I heard her and felt for her for the 1st time in aLONG TIME! GOD IS GOOD!

We already used one of the new tools. During a discussion, you can talk when you’re holding the water bottle. If let me feel safe to open up my true feelings.

We are mid-lifers (in our 50s) and still newlyweds (5 months married) after having both been widowed. This was a wonderful and powerful way for us to know each other better and reaffirm each other and our marriage in this new season of our lives.

As workers in full-time ministry, we find ourselves pouring into people 24/7. This weekend caused us to get away and quiet ourselves to concentrate on the two of us. So oftentimes we want to talk about things but do not make time for us! We are committing to schedule time to invest in our own marriage. We know this is God's will for our life! He gave us a precious gift and we want to bring him glory through us!
