First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church Bridgewater, MA

First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church Bridgewater, MA We are a Welcoming Congregation. Services begin at 10:30am each Sunday. Summer services begin at 9:30am.

The congregation at First Parish Church is growing and flourishing. Our mission is to be a voice for the liberal religious values and principles of Unitarian Universalism in the community. Formal weekly services are held most of the year in our handsome, historic Sanctuary with its Hook Organ and its restored interior. We enjoy hearing a variety of viewpoints and, on any Sunday morning, our regula

r minister, the Rev. Jennifer Johnson
, a guest minister or a layperson may deliver the sermon. Religious Education programs for children and youth are conducted in the adjoining Parish Hall building. In July and August, informal lay-led worship is held in the Upper Parish Hall.

IT'S OKAY TO SLEEP IN THIS SUNDAY!

This Sunday, December 29th, our service will be at 4:00 PM instead of 10:30 AM!

Join us at First Parish Bridgewater for a special late-afternoon gathering:

“Blessings for the New Year”

Led by Pastor Rosemary, with inspiring music from Barry Simon on hammered dulcimer, Patty Simon on flute, and our Recorder Group, this service offers a chance to reflect, renew, and release what you no longer need as we step into a new year.

Through rituals of care and connection, we’ll embrace our UU theology of interdependence and mutuality—offering blessings that meet each of us where we are.

And after the service, enjoy a potluck dinner with your church community!

So, hit snooze, take your time, and join us at 4:00 PM for this meaningful and music-filled service.

Where: First Parish Bridgewater
When: December 29th at 4:00 PM (not 10:30 AM!)

We can’t wait to see you—well-rested and ready to celebrate!

Last week, we gathered to honor our ancestors and beloved dead, reflecting on those who came before us, or left before we’ve gone.

This week, in the wake of the election, many of us hold grief, fear, confusion, and uncertainty. Whatever you’re feeling, you’re not alone.

Join us this Sunday at 10:30am as we come together in solidarity. Let’s rise together in hope, love, community, and resilience.

🌟 Last week, we celebrated the spirit, triumphs, and tenacity of youth as we looked to the FIRST Robotics competition in Greece. Inspired by their innovation and energy, we reflected on the power of new beginnings and forward momentum.

This week, we turn inward to remember and honor those who came before us.

Join us on Sunday, November 3rd, for a special All-Ages Service, Remembering Our Beloved Dead. You’re invited to bring a photo of a loved one to place on our shared altar as we gather in community to celebrate their lives and legacies.

🕯️ All are welcome at First Parish Church as we share memories, hold space for reflection, and cherish the presence of those who have touched our lives.

Last week, we explored love at the center of community and service to others.

This Sunday at 10:30 a.m., we turn our attention to our beloved pets and animals who might believe -they- are the center of the universe.

Join us for a special Blessing of the Animals service as we come together to celebrate the love they show us, and reflect on how we can extend that same unconditional care to ourselves and those around us.

We’re cultivating a culture of peace, now, let’s focus on what truly lies at the heart everything we do: Love. ❤️

Love is the power that holds us together, guiding us through our shared values, occasional conflicts, and makes way for all the incredible things we can achieve together.

This Sunday at 10:30am we invite you to dive deeper into the spirit of love and how it sparks transformation, unity, and hope in our community, our spirit, and beyond.

Expect moments of inspiration, reflection, and joy as we explore the many ways love shapes our journey together.

Last week, we gathered to celebrate the story of Stone Soup, sharing the idea that when everyone brings a little something to the table, we create something truly special together. Thank you to everyone who added their unique ingredient to our community pot!

This week, we invite you to join us once again as we continue to build our spiritual community broth!

(Yes, we know that’s a tremendously silly metaphor)

Our service, led by the wonderful Peace Committee, will focus on peace, unity, and the unique contributions each of us makes to our shared journey.
