The current recital season at Deerfield Presbyterian Church continues on Sunday, March 1st at 4:00PM, when they present Natalia DaSilva, violin, accompanied by Graeme Burgan, piano. Both have performed previously at Deerfield, bringing excellent musicianship and audience-friendly programming. This recital will include beautiful music by Claude Debussy, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Edvard Grieg and Ernest Bloch, and offers a wonderful opportunity for young people learning these instruments to hear inspiring performances. There is no admission charge, a freewill offering will be received. The church is located at 530 Old Deerfield Pike in Deerfield Street, and is accessible to those with disabilities. The recital will be followed by a Meet-The Artists reception.
Natalie Rudoi DaSilva enjoys a diverse career in performance and education. She performs frequently throughout the Philadelphia area with ensembles such as the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Ballet, and Opera Philadelphia. She has also appeared as a guest musician with the Philadelphia Orchestra and the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra. Notable conductors she has worked under include Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Vladimir Jurowski, Donald Runnicles, Bramwell Tovey and Rossen Milanov. As an educator, Natalie currently maintains a private studio out of her home in New Jersey. She has previously served on the faculty of the School of Music at Cairn University and at Temple Prep’s Center for Gifted Young Artists. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Natalie began her studies on violin at the age of five and her former teachers include Kimberly Fisher and Yumi Ninomiya Scott. She made her solo debut at the age of 15 with the Cairn University Orchestra as first place winner of the Outstanding Young Christian Artists Competition. As soloist, she has appeared with the Kennett Symphony Orchestra, the Cleveland Institute of Music Symphony Orchestra and Symphony in C. She has also been featured on Philadelphia’s WRTI-FM Classical and Jazz radio.
Graeme Burgan is an active musician, educator and administrator; originally from Adelaide, Australia, he now lives in Doylestown, Pennsylvania with his wife and three sons. As a solo and collaborative pianist, Graeme has appeared in concert halls across Australia and the United States including the Adelaide Fringe Festival, the Melbourne Recital Center, the Art Gallery of New South Wales, and The Philadelphia Orchestra’s Sound All Around program. Graeme is also a member of the New Jersey Chamber Orchestra. He has collaborated with composers Sean O’Boyle, Rollo Dilworth and Morten Lauridsen. As a performer and repetiteur, Graeme has worked with the Allentown Symphony Orchestra, Garden State Philharmonic, State Opera of South Australia, Cairn University, University of Adelaide, University of South Australia and the Westminster Opera Theater. Graeme is the Executive Director of Csehy Summer School of Music and serves on the music faculty of Cairn University, with previous teaching appointments at Moravian College, Tabor Adelaide and Adelaide College of Ministries.
