We're excited to announce that Deaconess Nurse Ministry has been awarded a grant from St. Martha Giving Circle!

We are incredibly grateful for this support and honored to partner with an organization that shares our commitment to strengthening health, wellness, and compassionate care throughout our community.

This funding will help us continue providing vital nursing services, health education, advocacy, and support to underserved and vulnerable populations.

Recently, we had the joy of celebrating our nurses during a special agency retreat held at the The Marianist Retreat & Conference Center.

This dedicated Nurse Retreat brought our team together for reflection, connection, and meaningful dialogue. We spent time discussing the state of the organization and exploring how we can thoughtfully respond to key areas from an employee perspective as we continue to grow and strengthen our work at Deaconess Nurse Ministry.

The day also included intentional wellness and team-building experiences designed to support and refresh our nurses, including a sound bath session, reminiscence therapy, a nutritious lunch, and opportunities for team connection and bonding.

We are grateful for the commitment of our nursing staff and the work they do every day in service to our community. This retreat provided space to pause, reflect, and reconnect with both purpose and each other.

Randy’s dedication to leadership, professional growth, and service excellence continues to strengthen the work we do in the community each day. We are grateful for his commitment to advancing compassionate care and making a lasting impact on the lives of those we serve.

Every act of care tells a story.

Through the Healthy Impact Society, we’re able to reach individuals who need more than just healthcare—they need connection, encouragement, and hope.

Recently, one of our nurses visited an 80 year-old gentleman who had been struggling to manage his medications after surgery. Living alone and facing visual and literacy challenges, he had multiple duplicate medications and an overwhelming system to sort through.

During the visit, our nurse helped organize his medications, remove duplicates, reorder what was needed, and set up a clear, easy-to-follow system. By the end of the visit, he felt more confident, at ease, and better equipped to manage his health safely.

With limited support nearby, this kind of care provides not only practical help, but peace of mind and connection when it’s needed most.
