Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of Bridgeport

Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of Bridgeport Welcome to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of Bridgeport On Facebook! It was this fervent desire, therefore, that had motivated two "Founding Fathers" — Mr.

Here you can stay informed about our Parish and our activities, as well as communicate and network with us (and each other)! The desire to formally establish a Greek Orthodox Community in the Greater Bridgeport area was fostered by the Faith and Love of the Greek Immigrant in the New World. He recognized the need to organize in the realm of a "Koinotita" — a Community, that the Greek Immigrant can

properly prepare the foundation of retaining the Treasures of his Divine Heritage, which is to be inherited by his children and grandchildren down through the ages, without innovation or distortions. The Hellene knew that it was imperative to act if he did have the sincere pathos to "Keep the traditions," — his Identity, and not be assimilated as one, lost in the great "melting-pot" of nationalities. And his Identity was important, for without it he would do a disservice to his new home in the New World; without it, he could never be an inspired personality worthy of his citizenship. The Immigrant had an obligation, an Image to project, a Heritage and Culture which gave birth to the "American way of life." Nicholas Vlantes and the late Aristides Angelopoulos — to journey to New York City to meet with the Dean of the Holy Trinity Cathedral, Archimandrite Methodios Kourkoulis, and discuss with him the formation of a Greek Orthodox Community in Greater Bridgeport, Connecticut. In 1913, eleven members of the Pan Hellenic Union first met to discuss the formation of our Greek Orthodox Community. These eleven members were joined by an additional seven, to compose a committee of eighteen. They were:

Nicholas Vlantes
Aristides Angelopoulos
Nicholas Theodoropoulos
Nicholas Goudas
Gregory Vaggelopoulos
Demetrios Sinanis
George Geanuracos
George Meras
Konstantinos Taboularis
George Kapnas
George Asteriou

First Board of Directors
Nicholas Lazos, President
Nicholas Vlantes, Vice President
George Molones, Secretary
Aristides Angelopoulos, Treasurer
Board members:
George Geanuracos
Andrew Demotses
Anastasios Farfaras

Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of Bridgeport hosted its first annual parish-level St. Romanos Music Festival this past Sunday. We are so proud of our participants who each presented a hymn from the Divine Liturgy in Greek to our judges, families, and parishioners.

Congratulations to Angeliki Patentas who did a beautiful job in the pre competition level!

Congratulations to Kyriaki Karayiannis, who placed 1st in the Senior Division and will move forward to the Archdiocesan District Festival, Sunday 6/14!!

May God continue to bless you both as you grow in faith and continue sharing the beautiful talents He has given you!

Today, on the Feast of Pentecost, we celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit descending upon the Apostles and filling them with courage, wisdom, and joy. What began as a frightened group gathered behind closed doors became a community ready to share Christ with the world.

The same Holy Spirit is alive and active in each of us today, especially in our young people who are searching for purpose, belonging, and hope. Pentecost reminds us that God does not leave us to navigate life on our own. Through the Spirit, we are strengthened to love, to serve, to forgive, and to witness to Christ in our daily lives.

For those who work with young people, Pentecost is a reminder that our role is not simply to teach about God, but to help create space for the Spirit to work in hearts and lives. The Church grows when we listen to the Spirit and encourage one another in faith. Every generation is called to receive this gift anew and to share it with the world.

As we leave the Divine Liturgy today, let us open our hearts to the Holy Spirit and commit ourselves to being bearers of Christ’s light, love, and hope wherever we go. Blessed feast to you all!
