Have you gotten your copy of Wise Living Magazine this month? Make sure you flip over to pg. 17 for Ashley's insight on the word TESTIMONY.

We can hardly wait to get back to our regularly scheduled Kingdom in Action Lunches in the fall!
Until then, meet us for June Kingdom Coffee at The Homesteader on the 9th, 7-9am.

It's FREE to come hang out with us but you do have to pay for your own drink.

Our Non Profit Spotlight for our June 9th โ˜• Kingdom Coffee is โœจ First Impressions Wise County.

"Dignity, joy & confidence for every student."

We are proud to highlight First Impressions Wise County, an incredible local 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to uplifting individuals in our community. Because every child deserves a CONFIDENT first day of school. Making a great first impression is powerful, but building lasting self-esteem is life-changing.

From community outreach to local events like their recent "Decked Out" Bingo fundraiser, this organization is all about spreading positivity and driving real, local impact.

"For years, I have been praying for a charity that I could donate my time and financial resources to that felt near and dear to my heart. Late last year around the time that school went back, an idea popped in my head about a boutique style back to school event where kids could pick out their first day of school outfit. It gives me extreme joy to think of the children having ownership and being able to truly love their back to school outfit. I love this idea so much. I told everyone I knew in the hopes that someone would start the charity. Little did I know that that is what God was placing on my heart for me to do. Iโ€™ve never served on the board of a charity or been involved at all, but I am stepping off in Faith that this is what I am supposed to do to get back to my community."
- Kari Newton, Founder

Today, we take a moment to look beyond the long weekend and remember the real meaning of Memorial Day. We honor and remember the heroes who gave everything in service to our country. Their legacy of courage lives on in the freedoms we enjoy today.

The Poppy - a blooming symbol of a bloody conflict that changed the world forever.

"In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below."
- Excerpt from In Flanders Fields by John McCrae

"We cherish, too, the poppy red
That grows on fields where valor led;
It seems to signal to the skies
That blood of heroes never dies,
But lends a lustre to the red
Of the flower that blooms above the dead
In Flanders Fields."
- Excerpt from We Shall Keep the Faith by Moina Michael

Serving as the hands and feet of Jesus is rarely a path of least resistance. It requires a shift from passive faith to active, sometimes uncomfortable, movement.
"Doing what is good will not always be easy."
- Ashely Smalley, Smalley Consulting

True service often requires sacrifice... of our time, our comfort, or our personal agendas. Itโ€™s about showing up when itโ€™s inconvenient.

"If you're going to make a difference, you're going to have to be a little different."
- Nate Mara, Decatur City Manager

If hands do things and feet go places, where have you allowed God to use your hands and feet recently?
Maybe your feet led you to a neighbor in need, or your hands spent time working on a project that serves the least of these. We are called not just to inhabit the Kingdom, but to build it through our actions.

๐Ÿ‘‚๐ŸผHave you heard about our Kingdom in Action lunches?

We're also looking forward to โ˜•Kingdom Coffee dates again!
Stay tuned for more information about both in the coming weeks.

That's a wrap on our 2026 Spring Season!
We have experienced SO much growth, created so much more community, and been front row witnesses to The Lord carrying out His promises for this ministry. It has been incredible to watch.

Would you do us a favor? If you have been to multiple Kingdom in Action lunches, especially if you attended any last year, would you leave a comment with something that you have seen God do in Kingdom in Action? Whether it's a personal connection or just the witness of attendance growth, we would love to hear your perspective.

Thank you so much to Children's Advocacy Center for North Texas for being our lunch sponsor and non-profit spotlight this month, and to Tiffany Maggret for being our guest speaker on messy ministry.

These lunches couldn't happen either without the amazing staff at Decatur Conference Center, and our KiA volunteers. Thank you for everything you do.

We will see you all for Kingdom Coffee this summer at The Homesteader, and lunches will resume in August!

Don't forget about The Harvest Challenge that will run August-December. Start thinking about who you're going to invite to lunch to win that big prize!
