Youth Night went great tonight, thank you Pastor Keithian for providing tonight’s meal. As always we started off with games and continued with today’s message. As we started today’s teaching one of our leaders reminded our youth of how important it is to learn the word every time we get together and how prayer is a tool that we can always use at all times in our lives. As we shared some of our favorites verses we went into the book of Ephesians chapter 6:10-12. We discuss what the armor of God is and what it means to have the strength. As believers we are to be in the word daily, do our morning prayers, and stay connected to the word so we don’t get distracted from the word. As we stay in the word daily we become stronger and God will give us the strength needed when we encounter attacks from the enemy. As a growing Christian we will be facing many troubles and thats where God will be testing our faith. We are to remain still, stand firm, and believe in his word.

Happy Thursday Everyone! Once again we would like to thank everyone that has been supporting Proverbs Ministry of Bridgeport with prayer, volunteering, and with every meal being provided every Youth Night.
Last night we continued our lesson on Prayer. We discussed many ways and reasons to pray for one another and how to pray. We learned that prayer is our most important tool in life and how prayer is used at all times in good and bad times. Just how we pray for good outcomes we also pray to give thanks for those outcomes. Pastor Brian encouraged everyone to invite their friends to youth night, to share the good news, to bring people together to study the words. It is so important to keep ourselves busy in the word daily so that we don’t wonder away and lose ourselves in this world. proverbs Ministry of Bridgeport invites the whole Youth community to be part of our Youth group every Wednesday at 6:30 at 1120 Columbia Ave. Bridgeport.

Hello July! Wow what a warm month we have been having this year. Not even this heat has stopped Proverbs Ministry of Bridgeport to continue its teaching every Wednesday.
It has been a busy summer for many us enjoying the weather, the kids out of school, and catching up in all the areas of our daily life. Which speaking of busy, today was one of those days where you’re running errands and you have that one thing that you have to get to on the back of your mind and you end up forgetting to get to it, my apologies for not posting today’s Youth Night reminder. Today’s teaching was about Prayer and how important it is to pray and how by reading the Bible will get you closer in prayer with God. We discussed how distracted our lives get when we don’t make time to see what God wants from us. The Bible is the tool needed to fight against the enemy, at all times. As we get into the word daily, wisdom comes into our lives and it is God who directs our life, and many blessing come along when we allow God to direct us. Remember to pray more for your loved ones, and make it a priority.

The month of July is here, which means Proverbs Monistry of Bridgeport has been in the Bridgeport area for 6 months already. We are more than happy to be part of this community, bringing some great teachings of Wisdom to our Youth community.
As we last talked about having Fear of the Lord on our last study, we continued to discuss last night, the 3 areas of our life that we should be in Fear of the Lord. We described this fear as showing reverence for God and respect towards him when make the right choices in life. The first area that we should be in Fear of the Lord is at home.
As parents direct their children to do things and asked them not to do certain things, children are to obey their parents by following their instructions. The second area would be in the Friendships. It is very important to surround yourself with people that walk in the word and that stay away from trouble. Having people in your life that do the right thing will help you grow wiser when making choices. Lastly in this teaching of the Fear of the Lord is in the World. When we go out in the world on our own we are to apply all the teaching and instruction we were given when we were still living at home. We are to make the right choices in life when no one is watching and know what’s best for our lives to live a wiser life when we are out on our own surrounded with a world full of hatred, selfishness, and sin. Parents remember that the first teacher in your children’s life are the Parents. However we live our life around our children will reflect on how they live their life and see life. We are to instruct them and get them ready when they go out to the real world before someone else comes along and shows them a different path. Proverbs 1:7-33.

Proverbs Ministry of Bridgeport had its first camping trip of the year and it was great! We would like to thank every parent that volunteered and helped so much on this trip. Without you All this couldn’t have been possible. The Youth Group had a great time outdoors playing games, hiking, and interacting with one another as we gathered for dinner and breakfast.
We spend a great evening out with a nice bonfire followed with a powerful devotional given by pastor Brian about being thankful for everything we see and enjoy, out in this world that our Gold almighty created. As we went out for our hike the next morning, we had another devotional given by Sunder. This message fitted right in, as we struggled going through roughly patches hiking up the trails. The same way we walk in perseverance to reach to the top, the same way we need perseverance at all times to get closer to where God wants us to go. How great is our God, for he has control of everything in this world. Our camping day was beautiful, the weather was great as we started setting up tents and by the time we were ready for games the temperature just got better. The Youth kids were able to enjoy the evening and night, for the day was just perfect for a camping day.

In today’s teaching Pastor Brian started off by asking everyone what they fear. Some of things that were shared were, afraid of spiders, afraid of heights, death, and afraid of the dark. From there Pastor Brian talked about the fear of the Lord. He gave us many verses from both the Old Testament and the New Testament, where it talks about the fear of the Lord. One definition of fearing the Lord is on Proverbs 8:13 which tells us that we have to hate evil. As we apart ourselves from evil it allows us to make good choices. Proverbs 1:7 tells us that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge. It takes commitment and dedication to stay in the word of God. Isaiah 41:10 reminds us that we do not have to fear none of the earthly things for He is with us and we should not be anxious about anything for he will strengthen us and help us. Having reverence for God, respect, honor, and awe, demonstrates having fear for God.

Today was just another great night with our Youth Group. We had a great dinner out in this beautiful weather, before the wind came in.
Last week we left off on learning about Sanctification, and today we went ahead and got into the meaning of it a little bit more to understand it better.
We looked in the book of Romans in chapters 6,7, and 8, where it clearly tells us how being apart or different from the world can save you from many things in life. As a believer you will be either controlled by the flesh or by the spirit. Again as a believer the more knowledge you gain the more likely you will get tempted to sin. If you stay in the word, apart yourself from bad company, bad habits, and places, you will have the power to get back or remain in fellowship as many times as needed. The moment we start to believe and confess our sins, we are saved by grace.
This doesn’t mean that you can keep sinning, you have to grow more into the word to stay in fellowship with God. Setting yourself apart won’t happen from one day to another, as you grow spiritually daily, you will have the power to stay away from anything that does not get you closer to God.
