Jesus used fishermen-
I was watching one of my shows "Wicked Tuna" the other day and something that Dave Marciano said rang a bell with me.
"Fishing is not for the faint of heart. You have to deal with epic highs and epic lows."
It adds some perspective to why 1/3 of the disciples were fishermen.
You have to deal with both ends of the spectrum, highs and lows. There will be days where it seems like you can't do anything wrong. You're sharing Jesus and people are listening. Lives are changing, people are responding. These are the highs, and of we aren't careful, we'll start thinking that it has something to do with us. We'll start thinking that we are responsible for these changes. We'll start wanting to share in the Glory with God. Sound familiar, it should. That is what got satan kicked out of Heaven. When we start putting importance on the messenger and not the message, there is a problem.
On the other hand, on those days where does get slammed in our faces, people will not listen, it seems like everything you do falls on deaf ears, you have to keep going. You don't get discouraged when you don't get the results that you want. Once again you are putting what you want over what God wants. Just because someone doesn't respond to you today doesn't mean they won't. We don't give up. We Pray for them, visit them, and keep on sharing with them through actions and words.
