Our September Wonderful Wednesday program is based on the book Dividing Paradise by Jennifer Sherman. Dr. Sherman, a sociology professor, tells the story of "a rural community where amenity-driven economic growth has resulted in a new social landscape of inequity and privilege, with deep fault lines between old-timers and newcomers." Sound familiar? What are those fault lines in Transylvania County? What does that mean for UUTC?

Annelise Hagedorn, a sociology professor at BRCC, and Hannah Bowers, a former field fellow with the Transylvania County NAACP and currently on staff at Common Cause, will present the program.
