June 21, 2020 Announcements
1. Office of the Bishop announced after Governor Cuomo, that Houses of Worship may host worship in churches at 25 percent. In our church it is 300 persons. To address the limit of space for Mass attendance, we will from now on, celebrate another two Masses in Spanish on Sunday, adding to 9:00am another 3:00pm and 6:15pm Masses.
Please choose new options for attending, so we don’t have to turn away people who would come after the capacity of 300 is reached. That is possible to happen at 9:00am on Sunday.
2. Holy Communion in the Diocese of Rockville Centre and in our Parish is distributed at this time after Mass has ended.
- It allows for the priest / deacons / extraordinary ministers to wear a mask during the distribution, while preserving the principle that the priest would never be masked during Mass.
- It more easily provides the opportunity to set up the Communion stations with sanitizer provided for all, right before receiving Holy Communion on hand.
- The priest and the ministers of Holy Communion will sanitize their hands right before the distribution.
- Ministers are not to use the gloves, nor people should wear gloves for receiving Communion.
-The faithful must maintain a 6-foot distance from each other as they come forward for Communion and should remove any face coverings immediately before receiving Holy Communion.
3. Entering the church, everyone must wear a face mask. As you notice we have placed hand sanitizer distributors on the walls in all entrances of the church, as well as on the stands by the doors until we get more refills for the wall distributors.
We marked the benches to be used for seating, so that we can observe social distancing when seated in the church in bench together as a family, or in assign by markers places if not members of same household.
4. Weekend Masses presently televised will continue to be televised on Facebook and YouTube, given the limited attendance in the church, and with some people staying at home for health reasons.
5. The Dispensation from the obligation to attend Sunday and Holy Day of Obligation Masses remains in effect for the Diocese of Rockville Centre until further notice.
6. Those who are not feeling well and anyone with a fever or a cough of any
sort should not come to the church to attend Mass, for a visit, or for any other ceremonies or purposes. As circumstances allow, a visit from a priest (for Anointing), deacon, or extraordinary minister of Holy Communion to bring them the Eucharist may be possible, observing the usual precautions (masks, social distance).
