At last week’s staff meeting, Dr. Domenic Nigrelli (Pastor of Adult Education) awarded the Truly Terrific Trumpet to Dr. Wade Cox! 🎺

After serving as a pastor for 25 years and entering retirement, Wade decided to bring his lifetime of experience to BUMC last November to serve as our Pastor of Caring Ministries. Whether offering encouragement, visiting those in need, or walking alongside our congregation through every season, Wade exudes kindness and joy in everything he does. Although he has only been on staff for seven months, his impact has been immediate and it feels like he has been a part of our church family for years.

The Truly Terrific Trumpet is a recognition among our staff for coworkers who go above and beyond the call of duty to serve our community and Kingdom!

In addition to June’s Communion spotlight, we are also highlighting our Repair & Restore Ministry! This team is made up of men and women dedicated to serving our church members through basic home repairs, maintenance, and other practical household needs. Through hands-on service, this ministry cares for our church community and demonstrates Christ’s love in everyday ways.

In June, we are spotlighting the work of our Benevolence Ministry. This ministry cares for members of our congregation by helping to eliminate barriers to care and resources due to financial difficulties. Its purpose is to provide emergency, short-term financial assistance and also act as a bridge to connect recipients with long-term support from our partner agencies.

This Sunday’s Communion offering will be supporting the Benevolence Fund. Join us for worship at 8:30, 9:45, and 11 a.m. to learn more about the impact of this ministry.

Here’s what our Youth Choir has been up to in Orlando so far! From singing at different churches and assisted living homes across the city to serving through mission projects and worshipping together, God has been at work every day on tour. And we can’t forget about their fun Disney adventures! Please pray for our students and adults as they continue to serve and share God’s love the rest of this week. 💛🎶

Plus, don’t forget to join us for the Youth Choir Home Concert this Saturday at 6:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary! We will welcome our students home and hear songs and stories from tour. We can’t wait to see you there!

One of the many meaningful ways our church ministries work together each week is through the partnership between the Spreading Blooms Flower Ministry and our Sunny Day Club. The Spreading Blooms Flower Ministry prepares fresh flower arrangements for Sunny Day members and volunteers to enjoy during their gatherings, helping create a beautiful and welcoming environment every week. We love seeing how our groups serve and encourage each other!
