This past weekend we celebrated Santa Clara First Baptist Church as they marked 175 years of faithful witness to Jesus Christ —a remarkable milestone.

What makes this anniversary especially exciting is that it wasn’t just a celebration of the past—it was the launch of a bold new vision for the future. SCFBC is prayerfully committing to reach 2,000 people for Christ by 2030.

We celebrate this historic moment and applaud the courage of SCFBC to honor its legacy while embracing a big ask for the future.

Join us in Stockton on October 10 from 10:00 AM–12:00 PM for GHC’s Annual Gathering at Crosstown Community Church.

As GHC launches a new season of church planting, it feels especially meaningful to gather at Crosstown—the longest-standing modern church plant in GHC. For years, this faithful church has brought love, care, and the Gospel of Christ to its Stockton neighborhood.

All of GHC is welcome for this sacred morning of prayer, worship, and vision for what God is still building among us.

We’ll be praying for pastors and churches across the East Bay, for churches walking through leadership transitions and sabbaticals, for camps and VBS ministries being prepared this summer, and for our brothers and sisters in places like Manipur, Myanmar, and the Middle East.

We’ll also be praying for wisdom as GHC explores next steps in church planting partnerships and Gospel renewal across our region.

There’s something powerful about sitting in a room with pastors and leaders who are dreaming together about what God could do next.

This week, some GHC pastors and leaders spent time with Rusty Price from Camino Church — listening, learning, praying, and talking about what healthy, missional churches could look like across our communities.

As Camino looks to expand, and as GHC begins the journey to start new churches while strengthening existing ones toward healthy missional engagement, it’s encouraging to see what God may be stirring through partnership.

Keep praying.Keep listening.Keep moving forward for the Gospel and His Kingdom come.

65% of pastors say they feel alone—and that kind of isolation makes leadership even heavier. But it doesn’t have to stay that way.

We believe healthy leaders need real connection. While we’re not primarily an events organization, we intentionally create spaces for pastors to step away, be encouraged, and reconnect with others who understand the weight of ministry.

Here’s what’s ahead in 2026:
• Church Planting – May
• Pastoral Learning – August
• Annual Gathering – October (a time of prayer and worship)
• Pastoral Care Retreat in Monterey – November

(Details in our last post)

Take these moments to slip away, connect, and recharge.

And it starts with prayer—join us today at 4PM.

Babylon will always try to write your story.

In Book of Daniel, Daniel made a decision early—he drew a line. Before the pressure. Before the temptation. Before the moment came.

He resolved in his heart to belong to God… not Babylon.

God, not Babylon, wrote his story.

So here’s the question for us:

Where do we need to draw the line?

What conviction do you need to settle now—before compromise ever has a chance?

Because the truth is, if you don’t decide where the line is, the world will decide it for you.

As followers of Jesus, we’re not called to blend in—we’re called to be set apart.

To live with quiet conviction.
To stand with courage.
To trust that obedience, even when it costs something, leads to the best story.

Let God be the Author.
