Join us online for "Prayer and Share" on Wednesday June 10th at 7:30 p.m. (CT). This week, we'll explore the topic: "Rock and Feathers: An Answer to Invasion."

Introduction:
Invasive political powers, invasive diseases, invasive species, and mental malpractice all may look threatening. Where does our protection and safety lie? Do we dare claim inviolability, for ourselves or others? In Miscellaneous Writings, Mary Baker Eddy writes, “These two words in Scripture suggest the sweetest similes to be found in any language — rock and feathers: “Upon this rock I will build my church;” “He shall cover thee with His feathers.” How blessed it is to think of you as “beneath the shadow of a great rock in a weary land,” safe in His strength, building on His foundation, and covered from the devourer by divine protection and affection (Miscellaneous Writings 1883–1896, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 263:5–12).” This Wednesday, let’s send out a beacon of hope to the world, and claim for all of God’s beloved children the protection and affection of our Mother-Father God.
Questions to consider:
● What are we allowing into our thought that doesn’t belong
here?
● What is it that keeps us safe from invasions of all kinds? Can
an idea of Mind or Principle be invaded or violated?
● How can we pray about military invasions? Are you praying
every day for the ending of wars, like Mary Baker Eddy did?
● How can we claim that God always saves us, when we see
innocent people lose their lives, or livelihoods, to violence?
● Do you have any inspiration or healings you’d like to share?

Join us online for "Prayer and Share" on Wednesday June 3rd at 7:30 p.m. (CT). This week, we'll explore the topic:

"Prayer for unity"
Introduction:

Jesus prayed for unity among believers: “I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you." (John 17:20-21 NIV). In Pulpit and Press, MBE wrote " Our unity with churches of other denominations must rest on the spirit of Christ calling us together." (Pul. 21:26–27) On the next page she added, "When the doctrinal barriers between the churches are broken, and the bonds of peace are cemented by spiritual understanding and Love, there will be unity of spirit, and the healing power of Christ will prevail." (Pul. 22:16–19)

Questions to ponder:

1. What role does Christian Science have in the community
today?

2. How can Christians pray together about current issues such
as artificial intelligence? See link: https://www.csmonitor.com/Editorials/the-monitors-view/2026/0527/Effective-faith-based-safeguards-for-AI?cmpid=shared-email&src=shared

3. What does praying together look like? See link: https://www.csmonitor.com/World/Europe/2026/0528/norway-dugnad-volunteerism-social-responsibility-community?cmpid=shared-email&src=shared

4. Where can prayers about Christian nationalism lead us?

Join us online (and in person this week) for "Prayer and Share" on Wednesday May 27th at 7:30 p.m. (CT). We will be exploring the topic:

"THE JOYOUS DEMAND FOR PROGRESS"

We can’t just wish for progress in our lives. Progress is a demand! But a joyous one. There is no stagnation in the dominion of heaven, and that’s where we live.

Let’s consider the following questions:

1. Do you see progress as a law, or as something that can be thwarted?
2. If you feel stuck, how can you “jump-start” progress in some area of your life?
3. What tries to thwart your progress? What is it that resists change?
4. What healings can you share that show how progress is the law of God?

"BULDING ENDURANCE"

Questions to ponder:

What helps you increase your endurance when the path you are on becomes rocky, steep, and seemingly endless?

What helps you when you begin to get winded, but you haven’t reached your destination?

What kind of pep talk do you give yourself as encouragement to keep going?

Join us online for "Prayer and Share" on Wednesday May 13th at 7:30 p.m. (CT). This week, we'll explore the topic:

"LEANING INTO SOUL-FILLED MOMENTS, DAYS AND YEARS."

Mary Baker Eddy writes that, “One moment of divine consciousness, or the spiritual understanding of Life and Love, is a foretaste of eternity. … Eternity is God’s measurement of Soul-filled years.” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 598:23)

Questions to ponder:
1. What is your understanding of “Soul-filled years”?
2. What does a “Soul-filled” moment look like?
3. Have you had a moment, or longer, that felt like a “moment of
divine consciousness”?
4. What quality of thought or action invites a “Soul-filled” moment?
5. Please share any insights, inspiration, challenges, or healings you
have experienced.

Join us online for "Prayer and Share" on Wednesday May 6, 2026 at 7:30 p.m. CT). This week, we'll explore the topic:

“LOVE IN ACTION: ONE ACT, MANY RIPPLES"”

In two sentences, Mary Baker Eddy provides a practical framework for carrying out the instruction from Jesus: “Do to others...”

She writes: “We should measure our love for God by our love for man; and our sense of Science will be measured by our obedience to God, — fulfilling the law of Love, doing good to all; imparting, so far as we reflect them, Truth, Life, and Love to all within the radius of our atmosphere of thought. The only justice of which I feel at present capable, is mercy and charity toward every one, — just so far as one and all permit me to exercise these sentiments toward them, — taking special care to mind my own business.” (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 12.)

At a time when politics is fractured and episodes of violence play out on the local as well as the world stage, Eddy’s counsel is a reminder that even small acts of attention, restraint or kindness may carry a profound, albeit quiet, healing influence. To ask what we can do for others – can this become more than just a moral obligation. Can daily practice also nourish our souls?

Questions to consider:
• How can Mary Baker Eddy’s idea of measuring our love for God by our love for others deepen the way we think about everyday interactions?

• Do any practical tips exist that could help us interpret how to impart “Truth, Life, and Love to all within the radius of our atmosphere of thought”?

• Can you think of a time when you focused on the needs of others and this orientation helped to melt tension, disagreement or even hostility?

• How do we know that even small acts ripple out into the greater world (thus contributing to our own sense of balance, clarity and peace)?

ACCENTUATE THE POSITIVE

Join us online for "Prayer and Share" on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. Central time. This week, we'll explore the topic "Accentuate the Positive."
You might think that “Accentuate the Positive” is just a light-hearted ditty, or a Pollyanna approach which would bypass our need to deal with challenges. But our perspective is powerful. We can cultivate an awareness of good and a spirit of hope and gratitude, grounded in God’s unbounded grace and love, or we can allow ourselves to be engrossed in the belief that things are dark and difficult. But God is not the author of both good and evil, both light and darkness. He/She is only good. And no matter what the situation looks like, good is happening. Paul writes (ii Cor. 1:19) “Christ Jesus … was not Yes and No; but in Him it is [always the divine] Yes.”

Armed with this Christ-like positivity, we can accentuate the reality of goodness and joy, stop “messing with Mr. In-Between,” and “spread joy up to the maximum” – the “divine Yes!”

Questions to Consider:
• How can we possibly maintain a positive attitude when there seems to be so much ugliness and destruction in the world?
• Do you ever feel the pull of negativity, and get into a pattern of finding something wrong with everything, or everyone?
• What is the ultimate source of all goodness and happiness?
• Do you have any favorite poems or songs that help you “latch on to the affirmative” and “eliminate the negative”?
• Would you like to share your inspiration or healing experiences with the group?

ADORING JESUS

Join us for "Prayer and Share" on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. Central time. On the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month (THIS WEEK), we hold a hybrid service simultaneously meeting in person at the church, 2328 S. Brentwood Blvd., Brentwood, MO 63144.

This week, we'll explore the topic "Adoring Jesus." In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, Christ is mentioned 213 times, while Jesus is mentioned 462 times. But in our daily thought and prayers and talk, do we tend to focus on "the Christ" much more than Jesus? Do we have a relationship with Jesus? Let's just spend some time together thinking about Jesus, our friend, our Savior, and whether we "adore him," in Mary Baker Eddy's words (SH 26).

Questions to consider:

Do you feel you have a relationship with Jesus?
Where does your heart need an adjustment so you can live and love like Jesus?
In using the phrase "the Christ” so much, which is an impersonal sense of the true understanding of God, have we left Jesus somewhat out of the picture?
Our Covenant says that we strive to be Jesus-patterned. What does that mean to you?
Have you had an epiphany/healing/experience which felt directly connected to Jesus?
Do you have any inspiration or testimonies of healing to share?

JESUS WEPT

Join us online for "Prayer and Share" on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. Central time. This week, we'll explore the topic "Jesus Wept."

"Jesus Wept" (John 11:35) is the shortest verse in the Bible, yet it speaks volumes about who Jesus was and what he valued. Some of the members of this Brentwood Church community just finished reading together Richard Rohr’s book "The Tears of Things: Prophetic Wisdom for an Age of Outrage."

On page 4, Rohr writes: “Tears come from both awe and empathy, and they generate even deeper awe and deeper empathy in us. The sympathy that wells up when we weep can be life-changing, too, drawing us out of ourselves and into communion with those around us.” He goes on to show in his book that tears are not a sign of weakness, but essential elements of compassion, strength, and maturity.

Mrs. Eddy writes on page 25 of "Science and Health": “The divinity of Christ was made manifest in the humanity of Jesus.”

Questions to consider:
· Has Christ revealed itself to you when you were weeping? How has that affected you?
· Does knowing that Jesus wept encourage you or concern you? In what ways?
· In what ways has our culture changed regarding crying in front of others?
· Do you have any inspiration or testimonies of healing to share?

TRANSFIGURATION

Join us for "Prayer and Share" on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. Central time. This week, we will hold a hybrid service simultaneously meeting online and in person at the church, 2328 S. Brentwood Blvd., Brentwood, MO 63144.

Together, we will explore the topic “Transfiguration.” Merriam-Webster provides two definitions of transfiguration. “1. a change in form or appearance; metamorphosis. 2. an exalting, glorifying, or spiritual change.” Matthew 17, Mark 9, and Luke 9 discuss Jesus’ transfiguration and his talking with Moses and Elijah. You are invited to revisit these passages.

To consider:
1. 2 Peter 19 declares that “you will do well to pay attention to [the transfiguration], … until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.” What is this morning star rising in our hearts?
2. Why were Peter, James, and John instructed not to discuss what they experienced until the resurrection? What might resurrection mean here?
3. What do we make of Peter wanting to build three shrines?
4. Please share healings, insights, struggles, and perhaps even a transfiguration of thought and experience.
