What did YOU do with your Memorial Day break?

Good Shepherd’s sponsored scouting troop, Troop 8, visited Sea Base in Florida Keys, FL! While there, they did some SCUBA training. Pretty cool guys!

You know what else we love? Intentional/First Communion!

Deacon Rebecca and Ms. Chrissie did an excellent job of preparing these kids for this important next step in their faith. (We even got a future acolyte out of it.)

Hey, we know those ladies!

Bishop John was with the Diocese of Tennessee The Order of the Daughters of the King, Inc. this past week, for their Spring Assembly at St. George's Episcopal Church. The Bishop celebrated and preached for the Feast of St. Mark the Evangelist, and joined the Daughters for their business session, and a presentation by the Rev’d Randy Hoover-Dempsey. https://edtn.org/feast-of-st-mark-the-evangelist-daughters-of-the-king-spring-assembly-st-georges-church-nashville-april-25-2026/

What a great Good Shepherd Sunday we had! 7 confirmations, and 2 receptions—it was wonderful to celebrate with everyone.

It was also the Rt. Rev’d John C. Bauerschmidt’s last Sunday with us. We are grateful for his ministry, and blessed to have him celebrate the Eucharist for us one last time.

Congratulations to all!

On Wednesday our Youth Director, Abigail Hawkins Sharik, joined other Youth Directors at their annual luncheon with the Bishop!

Bishop Bauerschmidt hosted the annual Youth Directors Luncheon at Diocesan House this past Wednesday. It was a great time to look back on 20 years of youth ministry under the Bishop's guidance and look towards the future. A special thank you to Christy Beesley (St. Augustine's, Nashville) for her leadership.

Part IV: Easter Sunday

Alleluia! Christ is risen!

It took a LOT of people to organize these services, and we’re grateful for every one of them. We rang bells, rehung our Alleluia banners with lots of celebratory cheers, and sung with gusto! Some of us even had enough energy for an egg hunt afterward.

The Lord is risen indeed! Alleluia!

Part III: Good Friday

Good Friday of the Lord’s Passion focuses on the day of Christ’s crucifixion. This solemn day includes a Passion reading with progressively dimming lights, extinguishing candles, ending in complete darkness—the Light of the World, gone out of the world, for the world.

A wooden cross is then carried up the center aisle, and those attending may come forward to venerate it.

Part II: Maundy Thursday
