Looking for your next step in student ministry leadership?

St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Lincoln, Nebraska is seeking a relational and strategic Director of Student Ministries to help shape the future of a thriving and growing ministry community.

This is an opportunity to invest deeply in middle and high school students through authentic relationships, leadership development, faith formation, and meaningful outreach all within one of the largest churches in the Great Plains Conference.

St. Mark’s is looking for a leader who can:
Build strong connections with students and families
Empower volunteers and student leaders
Bring fresh vision while honoring the church’s history
Create sustainable systems for long-term ministry growth
Lead with compassion, creativity, and clarity

And beyond ministry, Lincoln offers an affordable, welcoming community with vibrant neighborhoods, strong schools, great local coffee shops and restaurants, and space to thrive both personally and professionally.

If you’re passionate about helping students belong, grow in faith, and live out the teachings of Jesus in tangible ways, we’d love to connect with you.

✨ Commissioned to serve the next generation!

Last month, we celebrated a special milestone as leaders from our two-year Youth & Children’s Ministry Certification Program were commissioned for ministry. After seasons of learning, formation, prayer, and practical experience, these leaders are stepping forward equipped to serve children, students, families, and the Church with wisdom and care.

We’re grateful for each person who said “yes” to this journey and to the communities that supported them along the way.

Join us in celebrating these faithful leaders!

From the morning workshop to the final note of the concert, the day was filled with extraordinary talent, encouragement, worship, and joy. More than 300 people gathered at Brentwood United Methodist Church to celebrate and invest in the next generation of young leaders and artists.

We’re especially grateful for the many supporters, volunteers, performers, and friends who continue to make this ministry possible.

Thank you to Ginna Claire Mason, Allison Bailey, Laura Osnes, Christy Nockels, Joshua Carswell, and every student who shared their gifts so beautifully.

Hiring in ministry today is feeling noticeably different for many senior leaders.

Roles are staying open longer, strong candidates are more selective, and the hiring process is taking more time, more clarity, and more discernment than many leaders are used to.

But this shift isn’t just a staffing challenge. It’s revealing something deeper about the health of our systems, expectations, and leadership culture.

In our latest senior leader article, we explore three major shifts shaping today’s hiring landscape:

Why clarity matters more than speed in the hiring process
Why transparency is now essential for trust and team health
Why leadership development can no longer be an afterthought
And perhaps most importantly, what this moment is asking of churches as they seek to build sustainable, healthy teams for the long term.

Healthy hires don’t begin with urgency. They begin with clarity.
