Concord Road Church of Christ

Concord Road Church of Christ The family of God who meet at Concord Road Church of Christ are devoted to helping each other grow more faithful to God as we serve others with love. God bless.

The family at Concord Road Church of Christ is devoted to growing in faithful obedience to God through careful and thoughtful study of His Word and serving the needs of others in love. Because of the grace God, we work "in view of eternity" trying to reach those who do not have a true relationship with God. We do so with compassion, hope, and love. We hope that you will join us each opportunity you can and that you will leave our congregation better than when you first joined us.

This past Sunday was a day of blessings! Church Eat Church, Youth Led Service, and Kids v. Members Bible Bowl! Thankful for everyone who helped set up for the meal, all those that brought food (the Banana Pudding was well represented) and all members who participated in Bible Bowl to encourage the youth!

This past month, we took special moments to pray for our youth, our high school seniors, and the educators at Concord Road as they begin a new school year. We asked God to guide our students, give our seniors wisdom for the year ahead, and strengthen our educators as they serve and influence others each day. We are thankful for each of them and pray God’s blessings over the year ahead!

How much time do we spend praying for others -- and what are we actually praying for? This week's message from Ephesians 1:15-17 challenged us to go deeper than praying for physical needs and start praying for what matters most: that the eyes of our hearts would be enlightened.

Paul prayed three things for the churches he loved -- that they would grasp the hope of God's calling, understand that they are God's glorious inheritance, and recognize the immeasurable power working within every believer through the Holy Spirit. These are not small things. They are life-changing realities that, when we truly "get it," transform what we chase and what we treasure.

God cannot wait to be with His people. That truth alone should reshape everything about how we live and how we pray. If you missed this message, we encourage you to watch it and share it with someone who needs to hear it.

Connect Conference is just a few days away! We are looking forward to all the lessons and the time of fellowship with sister congregations. Also, Concord Road is well represented with 14 individuals serving as speakers for this great event. And remember, Concord Road will not be meeting on Wednesday, July 29th. We hope to see you at Connect Conference!

What an encouraging evening of Conversations of Faith! Last night, we welcomed licensed counselor Ryan Daniel for a practical discussion on raising resilient children in an anxious world. Together, we explored how parents can intentionally cultivate confidence, emotional health, and biblical resilience by creating homes marked by both truth and grace.

Rather than striving for perfect families, we were reminded to pursue redeemed families—homes where children see faith lived out through humility, consistency, and the hope of the Gospel. Thank you to everyone who joined us for another meaningful conversation!

9 Practical Principles for Raising Resilient Children

1. Don't Rescue Them from Everyday Discomfort
2. Evaluate Real Risk vs. Real Growth
3. Don't Avoid the Hard Stuff—Practice It
4. Intentionally Teach Practical Life Skills
5. Get Comfortable Saying, "I Don't Know"
6. Lower the Temperature on Catastrophic Talk
7. Let Them Feel the Weight of a Bad Choice
8. Make Your Word Your Bond
9. Model the Bounce-Back
