The Sisters of St. Joseph and the Sisters of St. Dominic invite you to celebrate the conclusion of the 2024 Season of Creation: “To Hope and Act With Creation,” by marking the vigil of St. Francis of Assisi.
A Prayer Service will be held in the original chapel of the Sisters of St. Dominic, 555 Albany Avenue, Amityville, at 4:00 pm, Thursday, October 3rd. A light supper will follow.

Parking is in The Villas at Dominican Village Parking lot, 565 Albany Avenue, Amityville, NY.

Feast of Kateri Tekakwitha…born in the forests of what is now New York State. She was a member of the Mohawk Iroquois nation, the daughter of a chief, and a captive Algonquin mother. Orphaned at four, she was raised by her uncle. At 20 she was baptized by a French Jesuit. She was known for her gentleness, kindness, and good humor. She died before her 24th birthday and was immediately revered by those who had known her holiness.
