Elder Lucious Wilson (1883-1943), FOUNDER, Church of God in Christ in Brenizer, PA. In the Beginning church services were held in a school and were later moved to a two room house next to where the church stands today. Under Elder Spence's leadership a double house was purchased. This house was located where the church stands today. Elder Spence left and Elder Higgs became Pastor. However he was n
ot able to fulfill the position of Pastor due to illness. Elder Spence returned and resumed his duties as Pastor. In 1956 Elder E. Ruffin became Pastor. In 1961 under the inspiration and guidance of the Lord, Elder Ruffin and his members demolished the double house where services were being held and built a foundation around the already existing foundation. The members worshiped in the foundation of the church for 5 years. At this time the chapel was completed. Brother Pratt, a trustee of the church at the time suggested that the church be named Ruffin Temple COGIC. Elder Ruffin passed in 1975 at which time Elder David Berger became Pastor. Under Elder Berger's supervision many improvements were made to the church building. It was under the leadership of Elder Berger that the name of the church was legally changed to Christ Temple COGIC. Elder Berger left the church in 1987 and on June 6th 1988 Elder Albert Stinson became Pastor of Christ Temple COGIC. In 2007 Pastor Stinson left Christ Temple to fulfill his calling at New Beginnings Church, and on October 4th 2007 Elder Calvin McCoy became Pastor. Since then many changes and improvements have be made to the church, and it stands to this day Christ Temple Ministries in Brenizer, PA.
